We are staying at Poly Concierge in December and were wondering which would be better: 1st floor patio OR 3rd floor balcony? We're thinking it would be nice to be able to just walk outside your patio door to the beach to watch fireworks, etc., but wondering if the view would be blocked by trees and shrubs? Those who have stayed there, please comment on which floor you were on and why or why not you liked it. Thanks!

I'm assuming you have a lagoon view... We LOVE the first floor... it is wonderful to be able to sit out on your porch in the morning, the ducks walking around... and see the Magic Kingdom... there aren't really any trees to get in your way on the first floor (stayed Conc. LV a few times and never had a blocked view)... Might want to request 1505 or one of the rooms close to that number... Close to the lounge, but not RIGHT there... We liked sitting on the porch and watching the Water Padgent at night... You will love it... keep in mind too that 1st & 2nd floors are non-smoking, 3rd floor is smoking...

We had room 3509 and a palm took up the space in between Space mountian and the COntemporay. A perfect view!

From what I can tell, there are no blocked views from the first floor

We stayed with the lagoon view in 2000 on first floor and loved it. I agree with the notion that there is not a bad view on the floor. The things we liked on first floor was being able to walk out onto the beach. The kids loved playing in the sand in the morning while we were getting ready, and it was terrific to just step out at night and see the water pagent and fireworks.

The advantages to the third floor would be a little more privacy. So I guess it comes down to the privacy versus stepping right out on the beach.

In any event, what a fun decision to have to make! Good luck!

The first floor would be my choice. The rooms x506-x511 have some trees and bushes in front of their views (put in the floor number for the "x"). The first floor is affected by the bushes and the 3rd floor is blocked by the palm tree tops. I have a report that 3509 is in between the trees and is a good view. Our room every year is 1505 and is a clear view. You can go to my web pages below my name for pictures of the views from some of the rooms in Hawaii concierge longhouse. It also has pictures of the outside of the building and you can see the bushes and trees I am talking about.

We can vouch for 3502. We had a beautiful view of the castle. This was taken from our balcony. And, I'm not sure if it was lack of photographic skill, or just disney magic, BUT the castle seemed much closer in real life!!

Our usual room is right above Steve's 3505. I don't think you can possibly go wrong with any of thes rooms, but the upper floors have Crows on the balconies at certain times of the year.

Hee hee would that be from me???? I do have a picture (link in siggy) of our view.... you can see that the one palm is close to the room but placed so your view of Space Mountian and the Contemporary is not blocked. You just need to sway a bit :-) Pristine view of the castle!

I wanted to add.... When walking around in the evening.... all the people on the first floors we movies... clear as a bell, we saw people changing clothes, brushing teeth..... necking!!!! I love the idea of being able to walk right out... but I also like the idea of no one looking in. I hate having my drapes pulled..... Third floor for us!!!

Can you see the castle from the 1st floor rooms just as well as the 3rd floor, or are you down too low? I haven't decided yet for our December trip which floor to try and get either.

Yes it was you Laura. I guess if I looked at the above posts I would have seen it;) .

Thanks for all the great replies! I was just thinking that 1st floor was the way to go when I read Laura's post...now I'm not so sure. I like our curtains open too.

I looked at your pictures, Laura - they are wonderful and made me even more excited about getting there than I was! This is our first time to stay concierge anywhere so I'm not real sure what to expect, but I think we'll love it and be so spoiled that we'll want it all the time. Our DD's birthday is the day we check in, so I'm hoping they might do a cake for her too (not counting on it, though).

I've bookmarked your site, Steve, and look at it all the time! It's great!

Kare, when in December will you be there? We will be there the 20 - 24.

I beleive your view is faboulous fromeither grond level or 2nd, 3rd floor. I just saw some travel channel show about MK and they said the castle was built 14 feet higher that EVERY thing else.... It stands out nicely!

Praise2Him--We will be at the POLY from Dec 3-7. But you will be there on my b-day the 24th!

Thanks Laurabearz--I didn't think about the whole curtain issue. LOL I think I'm leaning towards the 3rd floor now. The kids want to go to bed looking at the castle. Also, I looked at your pictures and they are lovely!

We had room 3512 great view of the castle :D Like everyone else said you can't go wrong it was magical:bounce: have fun
