We are going down in February to celebrate my daughter's 13th birthday it is our fifth visit down and we have only ever stayed at BWV, with our points. My three daughters will be 14, 13 and 12 at the time of our visit and love BWV for the excitment and continuous activities all night long on the broadwalk. They also love the slide at the pool. We will be doing the cruise for three nights and thought this would be a perfect time to experience another hotel. I was considering the GF but thought the Poly might be more active and fun for them especially with the volcano pool, but don't know whether to do a Hawaii Concierge room or try to request a room in the Samoa longhouse on the ground level volcano poolside. My one main concern with this hotel is not having a balcony, if we are not ground level. The girls and I love sitting out on the balcony, whenever we are in the room and it is actually important to me to have one. Would just like some feedback as to what longhouse to stay in and also how difficult it is to request a room with a balcony on ground floor. Just want to make sure I am not making a mistake by not going back to BWV. Oh, and one other consideration on rooms there are five of us, 4 women having one bathroom with one sink might also be a hassel when trying to get out
quickly.

Concierge is pretty expensive (it was worth it to my family for our last trip, but not every trip), but that has nothing to do with guaranteeing you a balcony. The 2nd floor of the Hawaii concierge building does not have balconies. I believe there are concierge rooms in another building as well, but I'm not sure. All 1st floor rooms have patios, all 3rd floor rooms have balconies, some 2nd floor rooms have balconies.

You can request a 1st or 3rd floor room in any building, but it's only a request and you may not get it.

If you're not interested in the free food in the lounge, and the itinerary planning services (of which some have posted recently were not so magical), I don't think you should spend the money for concierge.

We have stayed at the Poly concierge before and have loved it. A nice quick breakfast in the lounge looking at the castle is hard to beat and a great way to start any day. The snack in the afternoon was nice especially when the kids were smaller and we needed a nap break in our day. My 6 year old likes the lounge because he can watch the disney channel in there while we are veg-ing. My 8 year old likes the comfy chairs while he is looking at the unobstructed view of the lagoon and Magic Kingdom. It is right next to the pool/beach/boat launch, and a short beautiful stroll to the the main building. The staff are nice, +/- helpful. Can't wait to be back there!:woohoo:

OP....I agree with you about the balcony....this is the exact reason that I haven't stayed at the Poly yet.

I'm actually going back to BWV before our WLV stay instead of trying the Poly or CR. I changed my mind about the CR because I was worried about no balcony in garden rooms.....and noise in the tower.

I can understand why you keep going back to the BWV the place is awesome:goodvibes

Hi Lee
When we stayed at poly we had a 2nd floor room. No balcony but sliding glass doors opened. Missed you yesterday.

We just got back from staying Poly Club Level (Hawaii building). The staff was really wonderful and we enjoyed having the lounge.

However, if you are on the Lagoon side (like us), I wanted to warn you about the noise. The beach is pretty noisy - especially around Fireworks and Electric Light Parade time.

Last December my family and I were in a Club Level Lagoon view and we did not hear any loud noises from beach. The only things we heard was Wishes when it was happening at the Magic Kingdom, the Electrical Water Pageant at night and Christmas music being played during the day from beach.

noise?
how close is the beach to the rooms?

not too sure I have never stayed at the poly before, but I'm not too concerned about the noise honestly, my children are not little, actually the livelier the better for them!
