Looking for some ideas. We will be staying at Poly concierge in Sepember. My daughter's b-day (3yrs) is right before the trip & my son's (4 yrs) is right after we come home, so we decided to celebrate both kid's b-days while we are in WDW. I bought the kids a bunch of stuff from the Disney Store that I'm planning on suprising with them w/ once we get there.

I was thinking that since we are staying concierge, maybe I could send the gifts down ahead of time so they could be set up in the room before we arrive. Anyone ever work w/ concierge to celebrate a child's birthday? It's their first visit to WDW, so I wanted to make this trip extra special!

You can easily work with the IPO, but to have the room set-up prior to you entering the room would typically mean that you will not go directly to your room once it ready for your family.

The concierge staff would need time to place the gifts once housekeeping releases the room. Also, we found it easier to just have them buy the stuff on site, but if you ship you need to consider the worth of the items in realtionship to the cost to determine if this is economical. It also means coordinating and confirming the arrival of your package too.

Arrival day will be a very exciting day for young children by the mear fact their at Disney World. After a few items (gifts) they will go into overload :woohoo:  :hyper: and nothing will register, so I would keep this in mind and keep it simple. You could spread the gifts out over a series of days...

When my daughter was that small we used to put one special toy out each morning for her to "Discover" and it was always from "tinkerbell". It made getting her out of bed early very easy and continued the excitement through each day. I agree with the previous poster about too much at one time. Have a magical vacation with your children:thumbsup2

I would just have them in the lounge snacking while I was checking in/settling in and do the set up myself.

I prefer it that way -- there are no surprises.

I would still let concierge know though that you are celebrating bdays.
