Poly Concierge LV Room

When we stayed at the Poly LV conc. this past December, we had a first floor room with a TOTALLY unobstructed view of the castle, GF, and Contemporary. A GREAT view really! It was room 1512. Here's a link to my pictures of the room, including the view. :)

Great pictures, thanks for sharing. That's exactly the kind of view I'm hoping for!

I appreciate your honesty.

I'd prefer a second floor, but they don't have balconies, so I'm not sure how happy we'd be without one? Any thoughts?

The 3rd floor is out since it is a smoking optional, DH is very opposed to even the "hint" of smoke.

We have stayed in smoking rooms at the Poly many times. I have yet to detect the smell of smoke in any of the rooms.

How about a LV room in the Tahiti. Cheaper than concierge with the same view. It's a long walk to the Ceremonial House but a short walk to the TTC.

ead79 - I have a slightly unrelated question....last Dec. we stayed at the GF and loved it! I'm a little concerned that the Poly won't have that "Christmassy" feel in Dec. What did you think? (Or anyone who's stayed there at Christmastime)

I would have to say that the Poly did not feel as Christmassy as the GF. They did have Christmas decorations up (small trees on both floors of the Great Ceremonial House, oars hanging from the ceiling strung with pretty garland, and neat wreaths that had Hawaiian masks in the center decorating the monorail station), but not on the same scale as the GF. I think it's a bit difficult to do a combo polynesian/Christmas theme. :D It was a very relaxing, friendly resort with wonderful ambience, but if you're looking for a super Christmassy resort, the GF is probably a better bet. Other resorts that I have stayed at during December that were also Christmassy were the WL and AKL. The GF is still my favorite though. :) Hope this helps! Feel free to PM me if you've got other questions. :)
