Hi!

We would like to have a 3rd floor room in our upcoming stay, but I wanted to check with those of you who stayed in non-smoking rooms that were above the smoking rooms in the building. Did you smell any smoke? We really dislike the smell of smoke and are wondering if we should request to be on the other side of the building.

Thanks!

Almost there!!!!!

I thought the whole building is non-smoking. We were on the 3rd floor a month ago and it was perfectly fine.

Nevermind, I see you are going in 5 days. Have a great time. We were going to do Poly concierge in Sept. and we rescheduled for Dec. However, I was looking into this before we changed plans. From what I can tell, in some of the third room floors there is an old smoke smell, but in others there is not. Since all floors have a balcony in the Tahiti, you might just want to request the second floor.

We stayed there in August. I am very sensitive to smoke and was very worried. We requested a third floor room in the section of the building that was totally smoke free. We were very happy with our room, no smoke smell at all. Also we walked along the hall in the other section (where the smoking area was below) and did not notice any smoke smell. I don't know how the rooms themselves were though. Overall we really liked the Tahiti building, some aspects of it are better than the Hawaii building, although I am sure everyone, guests and CMS will be happy when Hawaii is up and running. They told us they were really running way behind schedule and probably wouldn't be back in Hawaii until at least November. It seems that they must have worked extra hard to get an Oct. 18th date. Anyway, enjoy your upcoming stay, TiggerPu88, and if you really really want to avoid smoke I would request a room in the totally non-smoking section. I found this area to be actually better than the Hawaii building for smoke-freeness (not actually a word, but you know what I mean!)

Have a Wonderful Vacation!!

tiggerfan58, yes they do have smoking rooms at the Poly. You should request one when you make your reservations. What I was referring to was theTahiti Longhouse which is currently housing the concierge. There are both smoking and non-smoking in this building. I'm not sure about the other longhouses.

The secind floor, east end of Tahiti allows smoking as well as the Niue longhouse and the 3rd floor of Tuvalu. All other buildings are non-smoking.

Aloha

Steve

We just got back from our Daughters Make a Wish Trip. Stayed in Poly-Tahiti Longhouse. Third floor room right across from Cindrella Castle. View was great. Only thing that we thought smelled of smoke was the extra blanket for the daybed. Housekeeping was more then happy to replace with a non-smelly one. The rest was great!!! Only a few bathroom defects....ie broken toilet set and the exhaust fan left alot to be desired. but all and all a very nice hotel and very close to ferry and monorail for getting around. Thanks a million to the Make A Wish Foundation!!!
