I just upgrade to Poly Concierge.... Help convince me it's worth the price... I have 2 rooms booked it was a difference of 400.00 for each room total of 800.00. I really want to surprise my mom so I am not going to make her pay her 400.00 part.... So I am taking on the whole 800.00 cost....

Please convince me it's worth it...

I have not stayed at Poly concierge but I have stayed at WL concierge before and I hear the Poly is even better than at WL. It was awesome! And I say DO IT and don't even have a second thought about it. This will be something you and your mom treasure always and she will never forget your surprise. She's your mom, she deserves it and so do you!
You won't regret it...

Our first Poly concierge stay will be in June and so far Im very impressed. They have been so good getting in contact with us to see what ps we would like and what they could do for us. They even managed to snag us an Illuminations cruise (I tried all week and failed :( ). So far they have been great and Im really looking forward to staying there and metting all of them in person.
Looks like we are going to be there the same time!

We stayed Poly Concierge October 2003. Prior to going I had the same concerns about whether or not the cost was worth it. We would definitely do it again.
We made good use of the snacks. And it was good to be able to have another place to hang out while people were taking showers and getting ready.
In addition, gettings PSs and signing up for activities was a breeze because they took care of everything.
Other things to know ... you can watch both the Electrical Water Parade and Fireworks from the lounge ... while eating yummy treats. Soda and water are available all day. We opted for Garden Concierge and didn't miss not having the view of the Magic Kingdom, since we could see from the lounge and when we were in the room we were mostly sleeping. The Hawaii building is close to both the beach front, pool and a short walk to the main building - very centrally located.

How large are the rooms in the Hawaii bldg. We are a family of 5 with their ages being 10, 14 and 16. Girls...Will there be enough space for us or should stay in the Tokelau bldg which is a few feet larger??

I really considerd concierge, but at $100 more per day, I figured for that much, I could have an in room breakfast and a character lunch everyday. Or stock my room fridge with really great stuff from one of those expensive specialty grocers or candy stores in Downtown Disney, or buy a whole tray of pastries from the Boulangerie Patisserie, or... you get the idea.

I can get all the fresh juice we can drink at a grove or orange stand in Kissimmee.

Just my thoughts.... I hope you enjoy your trip!

We really enjoyed our stay at Poly concierge, I wish we were returning in August -- but DH wants YC and the concierge would cost us a lot more than $57 a day. (I am guessing you are staying on the 4/7 plan; when we were quoted the Poly Conc for our trip that's about what it came out to.) At that price you can not go wrong. The offerings are great, the convienence of the building, the lounge really feels as if it is an extension of your room a place to sit back and enjoy the resort, the staff is tremendous --- quite simply a value. I think staying concierge is really for the traveler who plans on enjoying the resort itself. If you are touring at a slower pace I can't imagine a better place to come back to ------ AAAGHHH!! I might really have to work on DH and try these arguements with him. Enjoy!

You are making it sound so wonderful!! We are DEFINATELY traveling at a slower pace this time... With a 2.5 year old and 6 month old we will be spending a lot of time at the resort....

Our first stay at the Polynesian was in Tokelau and we are also a family of 5 (although mine were 9, 7 and 6 at the time). I was also concerned about the room size for our trip last Nov. when we stayed in Hawaii. I can honestly say I didn't really notice a difference. The rooms are still quite large. My only concern with the age of your kids is that there is only one bathroom (this was even hard on us with a 10, 8 and 7 year old). We are planning on staying concierge again for our Sept. trip and we will make due with one bathroom again since I can't afford two rooms.

If you get a good rate and there are more than 2 people in your room then I think concierge is a good deal. My kids loved the fresh fruit in the lounge and the desert at night saved us a trip to the Main Street Bakery. Having said this, I did learn that staying concierge is so much more than just having the lounge. Island Planning made all of my PSs for me and I really feel we were given preferential seating wherever we ate. They also arranged for me to have a Pal Mickey and autograph books waiting in our room when we arrived (more running around that we didn't have to do). The staff is more than willing to help with anything possible to make your trip special. As a mother of 3 it was nice to be pampered for a change.

I always wondered if concierge would be worth it for us. I figure that we spend so little time at the resort except for maybe 1 day of our whole trip, that it didn't seem worth it. We (ok it's pretty much just me) are theme park open to close without coming back to the hotel kind of people. I'm also a control/planning freak and may my PS's WAY ahead of time.

Now, it is just the two of us and we tend to go at less busy times of year which means shorter park hours so I don't want to spend 2-3 hours each day getting back to the resort and resting when the park is going to close at 7pm.

However, if we went at busier (and hotter) times of the year, I could definitely see us returning to the hotel after lunch for a couple of hours of napping/swimming then back to the park for dinner and fun until it closes at 11pm or later. This would allow us to make better use of the amenities offered by the concierge service.
