My question is how soon/often are you in touch with Concierge staff before your trip.

Here is why I ask.

Ressies for Poly Concierge 7/25 - 8/1. I hadn't heard from them so I called Poly Concierge last week. Asked about the few PS that I knew we wanted. Chef Mickey, Grand Adventures in Cooking for the kids, and, the much coveted Cinderella Breakfast. I spoke with a nice man (I always forget names, terrible fault!) who said he usually works at WL but would make sure it was handled and that I would recieve an email.

Well obsessive planner that I am, can't delegate or leave it up to fate - I called myself and got CRT:D

But now almost a week later I haven't heard from Concierge. I figured if they got CRT I would cancel one (apologizing if it was theirs!). I guess I should call them, but I'm sorta disappointed. I've rushed to check my email each day, I thought I would have heard from them at least about the other PS.:(

I'm just so excited about staying Concierge, but certainly I want my expectations to be reasonable. Maybe I'm to Disney needy. Truth be told I would kinda like it if they called me each day and told me what the weather is like and how long the line is for Splash Mountain:p

Seriously, please share your experiences and clue me in to what I should and shouldn't expect.

Their email address is in the papers they sent you. You can email them.

The food in the lounge is good most nights. Some nights the choices are icky and you have to eat PB&J or a ham&cheese sandwich from the kid's table. :D

They have chocolate milk and juice boxes in the back. You have to ask for it.
 
Good thing that you are an obsessive planner or it sounds like you would not be breakfasting with the princesses. Good for you for getting the coveted reservation! I am a bit surprised that you did not hear back, especially since the CM told you that you would receive an email. I hate when people say that they will do something and then do not follow through. I am sure it was frustrating checking for those emails each day.

I haven't recieve any papers form them. That was part of the reason for my first call. They looked us up in the computer and everything was there and correct. Still no papers.
But that is not my excuse for not calling, I have the number and email from Tikiman's site. (ThanksTikiman)
I feel like if I call that I'm giving up hope that they are going to do what they said they would, and that the service and personal attention I've read about on these boards is just not coming my way.
Gotta get a theripist! or to Disney World Quick!
 

I have always had good experiences at the Poly. Last year we were there the same time you are going and they were a little slow getting back to me in regards to PS's they made.
It took them several days to respond to e-mails sent. Try e-mailing them again with your requests. Ask to have someone call you with confirmations. Perhaps the gentleman(I'm terrible with names too) who use to be at WL did not follow through. Remember the move to Tahiti is taking place so maybe messages are not getting through to the right people. Try again. I'm sure you will have a wonderful experience. I will miss being there this year - decided to give AKL concierge a try. :bounce:
 
I'm staying at the GF RPC and haven't heard from the concierge staff either. I never received any papers only my confirmation. I really don't need concierge to do anything for me, as we been to disney many times & already went to most of the hard to get ps's. But, I would like to give in a room request & ask them if they can have a pal mickey in our room before we get there, along with a refridgerator. I don't want to call them or e-mail them,because I don't want them to think that I'm a pain in the neck guest, I just wish they would get in touch with me before we go (July 7). We stayed at the CR concierge before & they never got in touch with me either. Oh well....
 
I would go ahead and email them. The email is on Tikimans site under concierge services.
You know they are especially busy there know with the move and all, maybe wires got crossed or something.
Go ahead email them. They have always been great with us. and I call about weekly to change or add stuff lol

You are right and I had forgotten that they are in the midst of thier move. I will relax, assume that this is the reason and send them a friendly email.;)
