For those who have stayed at the Poly concierge level, can you please offer some insight on rooms. We are thinking MK view and curious which floor to request. I thought I read the 2nd floor doesn't have balconies. Hows the view from the ground floor? Can you walk right out the back onto the beach? Does 3rd floor rooms have a balcony?

Also, where is the CL located in regards to the MK view rooms?

We have stayed CL @ the Poly 3 times and I always request 3 rd floor. The balconies are great @ night! We have had a room in the front 3504 I think and then 3518 near the end and 3508 kind of front/middle.

our last CL stay there was in '08 and I think they changed the category? It was LV CL at the time.

But, to answer your ques- all rooms had nice views, but the ones closer to the lounge-3504/08 had the best views.

Hope that helps! And happy planning!:wizard:

1st and 3rd floor in Hawaii (the CL building) have balconies. 2nd floor does not. The lounge is on the 2nd and 3rd floor (it's 2 stories) at one end of the building. From the 1st floor theme park and lagoon view rooms, you can walk out to the beach -- sometimes though there might be a bush in front of your room - we had a room like that once and previous guests had basically cut a path through the bush by cutting through it to get to the beach. There is your patio, then lawn, then the sidewalk, then the beach.

I haven't stayed since they reclassified the rooms as lagoon view and theme park view - before they were all the same category and some rooms were better than others. We've had a palm tree right outside our room - blocked the view a teeny bit. Also sometimes the swings on the beach or other trees between the room and the water might obstruct your view -- that's why they reclassified them to lagoon view and the more expensive theme park view.

Here you can see how a ground floor room looks from the outside - I took that standing on the sidewalk outside our room.

And here's one that shows how that palm tree was a little bit of an issue, and that horizontal line towards the bottom of the photo is actually the top of the swing that was also in front of our room on that trip.

(bad photo not focused on the castle! LOL!)

We've stayed in 2 of the 3 1st floor rooms you can see in that photo - the right hand side of the photo is the lounge.

I have stayed twice in the Hawaii Bldg facing the MK. First time was on the 3rd floor with a balcony & second time was on the 1st floor with the patio. I like the balcony choice better with the 3rd floor. I like to sit out there and have coffee, read the paper.. when doing that on the 1st floor, you have people walking right past you. I had a dead on look at the castle with both rooms & again. viewing it higher up was nice, no one walked in front of you as you were looking out.

We have stayed MK view countless times, way before they started the division in the views on the lagoon side.

Really with the change to the room categories on the lagoon side of Hawaii, being they now have rooms (rates) designated Lagoon and Theme Park View you really just need to designate the floor. We always request first floor and the view if fine. The patio provides more room and of course third floor has a slight elevation advantage, but it is nice to walk out your patio and to the beach if you want or if you have kids who like to do this type of activity. The flip side is ducks can come into your room on the first floor or during the 4th of July weekend your patio furniture could disappear.

What helpful posts! Thanks so much :thumbsup2

okay so one more question....Which would be more convenient to the Club Lounge (1st vs. 3rd floor)? Or does it really matter?

I don't think it really matters - and some people would rather be further away to avoid the foot traffic, but from the 2nd and 3rd floor you can enter right into the lounge. From the first floor, you have to go upstairs - either by stairs or elevator.

I would say the 3rd floor would be better because they have an entrance to that private sitting area on the 3rd floor where there is TV and a bathroom, so then you walk down the stairs into the lounge on the 2nd floor.
