Poly--charge for extra adult?

Does anyone happen to know what the charge is for an extra adult in a room at the Polynesian? My twins will be turning 18 soon, which means all three of our kids will be considered adults. Our family of 5 can still fit comfortably in a room at the Polynesian because of the day bed, but I'm wondering how much extra we will be charged for the three kids.

Thanks!

You can wait until check in to alert the staff that you have an additional adult. Most of the time the staff waves the fee. They did that for my DD when we went in October. The staff is very nice at the Poly.

Did I read the OP, wrong. I thought she would have 3 additional adults. Do you think they will wave the fee for 3?

2 adults and 3 children who are 18 or older.

You can't wait until check-in unless you are going to list all three of your additional adults then! As you probably know, you will be asked everyone's birthdates when you make your room reservations.

$75 extra is going to be a big hit on your room rate. We have one extra "adult" and even the $25 adds up. Our favorite resort is the YC. Last year, the best rate I could find (AP) was $215, so $240 plus tax. Two rooms at All Stars was $118 plus tax and two rooms at a moderate was $168 plus tax. We broke down and did the two rooms, partly at All Stars and partly at Coronado. Loved having the extra beds and space, but we sure missed the location, pool and hot tubs (while we were at All Stars) of the YC. Our conclusion was that we would rather be crowded into one room at the YC. If prices are similiar next time we go, we'll probably split our stay between two moderate rooms and one YC room.

You are right it is 3 kids. I would still wait until check in to tell them. They do not have to know who all is coming until check in. When making reservations I didn't tell them about my older DD because I wasn't sure she was coming. She said she was but I wasn't taking any chances. So there is no harm in waiting til check in. I still think the OP has a great chance of not paying for 3. When she checks in she can explain that her 3 kids decided to join them. When we did this the CM said no problem our rooms hold 5 anyway. So they really didn't care. You would need to be prepared to pay though if the CM charged you. I was fully prepared to pay for DD if that were the case even though having her with us only put us at 4 to the room at the Poly. Good luck!

It is my understanding that the $25 a day charge is for the 3rd-5th adult in the room but there is no charge for children 17 and under when with 2 adults.

Wow--$75! I'm going to keep your strategy in mind, Terry, but I'd better start throwing more coins in the change jar, just in case.

Thanks, everyone.
