Poly Beach

Every year my family and I watch Wishes from the beach of Poly after our Ohana dinner (even though we weren't staying there). Someone said that now this is not possible unless we are staying at Poly - can anyone verify if this is the case?

Anyone can go to the Poly beach and watch the fireworks. Me and DF did it in September before our Ohana ressie (Hallowishes @ 9:30) and we weren't staying there. They even took photopass photos with fireworks in the background!

Fantastic - I was hopin this was the case! It is a family tradition for us to eat at Ohana and enjoy drinks on the beach while watching the fireworks. Someone told me there is a cast member now that checks to see if you have reservations at the hotel before they let you do this...I was sad. Glad that is not the case and our family tradition can continue.

I think on certain dates they do check and wristband those who are staying at the Poly and tell the others to leave (4th of July, or other very busy times).

That is a wonderful Disney tradition! I love sitting on the Poly beach to watch Wishes! Such a relaxing end to a Disney Day. @jennab is right - at certain very busy times the beach is closed to only guests of that resort. I see from your countdown that you will be arriving this month so I think your tradition will be able to continue!

So happy to see we can go there!! I would hate if they stopped others from doing this since we usually stay at AKL, but love dinner at 'Ohana followed by fireworks on the beach.
