Poly already on the resale market!

I am very surprised to see a Poly contract on the resale market already! I can't imagine taking that big of a loss already! And with all '14 and '15's points so they didn't even get to use it. I know people get in over their heads sometimes, it just surprises me to see it listed.

It doesn't surprise me. So many unexpected things can happen that would force someone to sell. It's sad really. All I can imagine is someone losing a spouse or a job and it's just sad.

Someone who already owns resale contracts and doesn't see any benefit from buying direct?

I mean, with the lengths people around here go through to save 7% on gift cards, saving that much on a Poly contract seems like a pretty good discount. Plus, I can't imagine it was a full-price offer.

Buyer might not have known what they were buying and later found out.

Buyer just discovered how expensive $165 per point + 10%+ financing really is

We requested the info package from Disney just to see what all it said even though we had no intention of buying direct. I about choked when I saw their finance options and rates with today's going interest rates. I don't see how buying direct and financing at those prices will ever make DVC pay for itself. But the info was presented clearly to see what monthly payments would be.

Whether the seller financed seems to be pure speculation at this point.

In reality none really knows but it is a risk for all of us even paying cash that the unexpected might happen and force a sale. Thats why i was never willing to finance.

We looked and the guide did not explain there is no 1 or 2 bedrooms there just studios or bungalows. We love the resort but deal breaker for us. Plus I said I needed to go look at the resorts before spending any money. But life happens and could be a factor in selling so quickly.

Perhaps the buyer heard the LOUD boat horns at the Poly and decided to buy at a quieter resort
