Hey

I’m doing 10 nights at Caribbean beach, then a 4 night cruise and was then going to finish with a 1 bedroom DVC at polly tower or animal kingdom for two nights in December

I think Animal kingdom is $800 a night and polly tower is $1100 a night (needs to be a 1 bedroom to fit 5 people)

Just wondering what you would pick and what you think is better

Both very different. AKL is our absolute favorite, so we'll never turn down a chance to stay there. But a chance to stay at the new Poly tower, especially if you plan to do some time at the Magic Kingdom, could be very interesting for a couple nights. One thing is for sure - you don't have a bad choice, just 2 excellent places!

I know I could look it up based on the rate you noted but what view category for the Poly Island Tower 1BR?

I would go with Poly if you're going to be spending much time at MK. I love Poly but AKL has some of the best restaurants on property if you are doing more of a resort stay.

Just a 1 bedroom in the resort view from 12th Dec
Got it, thanks. To me the Tower is kind of funny - on the lagoon side you have some of the best views in all of WDW, and on the other side (in the Resort View category), not so much. On the plus side you have the two garden terraces and beautiful grounds that face the water, so places to enjoy the view outside of your room.

I think post cruise wind down/relax type of mode would steer me towards AKL. Just a more chill vibe. But if that's not a motivator, two nights is a good time to try the new Tower. Since it's December, not sure if a Christmas party or other holiday plans are on your radar, but maybe keep that in mind when it comes to Poly. Can be a fun time of year to monorail hop and enjoy all the decorations/offerings (Grand Floridian gingerbread house, etc).

I haven’t stayed at the Polynesian (yet) but I have stayed at AKL a few times (usually one night at a time - pre-stay before switching resorts). AKL is a beautiful and unique resort and definitely worth staying at. That being said, the Polynesian benefit of location/transportation options would probably have me choosing the tower instead-plus, it’s brand new so one would hope it’s in great condition.

Iv had a look into the view

I see what you mean, the standard view isn’t that great at all and it’s 1100 a night.

Starting to think the view of the animals would be better

In your situation with the space considerations I would probably do AKL, but I will say we had a land and sea trip back in September with 6 days at GF followed by a 4 nt cruise on the Wish and then a night of Poly CL and we really enjoyed hanging out at Poly after the cruise. We only went into MK so my partner could buy a backpack she’d been eyeing, and just did the pool, CL lounge, Trader Sam’s etc.

AK. It’s a nice way to end a trip. Relaxing and great food options.

Depends on your other plans- parks or no? If no parks AKL, if MK Poly, if another park pick the most appealing theming.

PS- it’s Poly with 1 L ;)

Completely different vibes. AKL is my favorite but after staying at CB for that long, you might feel taken out of the action going to AKL. Might be worth going to poly and then doing AKL stay for another trip
