Polling SSR Interest

What is your level of interest?

  • I can't wait to buy! It will be my first DVC purchase

  • I can't wait for sales to start. I want to make an add-on of less than 100 points.

  • I can't wait to add-on either. But, I want 100 or more points.

  • I'm interested in purchasing SSR as my first DVC but I want more information first.

  • I'm interested in an add-on but I want more information first.

  • Currently I have no interest in SSR as my first DVC purchase.

  • Currently, I have no interest in SSR as an add-on but I'm open to changing my mind.

  • I doubt I will add-on at SSR.

So, what's your level of interest in SSR?

My wife and I just purchased 200 points at BCV last August, and added on 100 more at BCV in June. We basically have all the points we can afford right now, but will most certainly add on again in the future (retirement - 3years?). Our first contract was financed for 3 years, as is our add-on, so we should be able to afford another 200 points in about 2 years, barring any unforseen circumstances. SS would certainly be a possibility. We're certainly interested in seeing it; we have a trip to WDW over Xmas vacation and another one next June. Hopefully they'll be more to see than there is now.

Currently we have enough points (initial purchase and two add-on's) to keep up happy, so we won't be adding on at SSR. That's true even if the new end date is 50 years as rumored, since I won't be around that long anyway...I'd have to live to be 110  )

But we will definitely stay at SSR, using the 7-month window.:p

Nothing against SSR. We won't be adding on for the same reason we didn't add on at BCV....We're happy with the points we have right now.

I think that we would look at buying an add on at OKW before adding on at SS. The extra 10 years just don't matter to us. I'll be a very young 76  , and I just don't see being upset when I think "wow, I could have paid more and owned until 88.." I'd rather have the lower point structure.

Not interested in adding on there at all...... BUT........ I cant wait to stay there!

EDITED TO SAY>>>>>>>>>>

My husband called from work, and said he had been talking with his sister about DVC and she thought SSR would be better for the kids....... SO now he wants to find out more about it........ (having a third child really has change him.... way way more into making them the center of vacations...... )

Being only 30 years old, the extra 10 years does make a difference to me. I plan to be travelling well into my 70s! We are on the waitlist for OKW points right now, but we're interested to see what early purchase incentives SS will have.

Isnt it funny what how people's goals are different. I am the same age, okay 31, and I have no current interest in the extra 10 yrs. I figure, by the time I am in my late 60's/early 70's, I hope to be retired somewhere closer to WDW!!!!

I currently own at OKW,VWL and BCV. I have no intentions of ever staying anywhere other the BCV for F&W trip and VWL for Christmas Season trip. Our May trip to OKW is flexible. We will probably just try and get in at the 7 month window for now. Maybe when my 2nd kid graduates college in three years & I have a few more bucks to play with I'll consider an add-on. But even if I do add-on, I'll have to beat my bos up for another weeks vacation.

No add-on here. Love OKW too much, but will definitely do a 7 month ressie once the resort opens.

Currently, have no interest, but open to change my mind. Never say never as the old saying goes!
The pool DOES look nice, and I think a big drawing for this resort. I am skeptical it will sell the "fastest", but WHO KNOWS? I don't care for the location, but will stay there at some point, and who knows, my kids in 8,9 years may be interested in buying there, that is their call, if so, that is 41 yrs of vacations for them!
By then, it would be a resale, but hey, it's their money!

Hi,

I was told that I might like SSR by my guide (Karen). I might want to add on once I know more info.

come on now - did you think there was any chance your guide would say "No, SSR is not for you, I really don't think you'd like it".

I take offense to your statement. She might have said I wouldn't like it. I want her to be honest & I think she is.

I'll be very interested in learning about this new resort and reading reports....I think we'll want to "sample" it at some point...maybe on an empty-nest trip sometime!

but no interest in adding on there or anywhere else. I think we're set with our DVC points! :)

We currently don't have quite enough points...actually I don't know that doubling our points would be enough! LOL But anyway, I can't wait to check out SSR....I'd very much consider an add-on there (though I'll admit, I'd consider an add on at any WDW DVC resort and maybe even HH)

So anyway, eventually we'll be in the market for more points....and SSR will be in the running. If they do offer lower points options for families of 5, as had be rumored, and will give us an extra 10 years (I'll only be 70 in 2042)....that may be a deciding factor. And if the points schedule isn't as high as the more recent resorts that's a plus as well. Ideally we want to round out our number of VWL points and then add a set of points at another resort....probably OKW or SSR. And I think that will be a tough decision. (BCV is also tempting, but the only real advantage going for it is SAB....since we already own at BWV)

I don't think we will add on at SSR. We are very happy with our points at OKW and HHI. We do like to stay at VB for 2-3 days every other year, but that's it. As to it having a longer end date, it don't matter as I'll be 101 in 2042.

Having only 75 points total (officially after today), I would look to do an add-on at any of the resorts. But, I have my preferences before SSR.....such as VWL or BCV/BWV for the location.

It doesn't seem as if there is that pent up anticipation we had for VWL and BCV opening. I'm expecting SSR to be very beautiful but I think DVC may have to sell to new owners rather than count on selling as many add-ons as they have in the past.

Of course, I might stay there and find myself under the DVC spell that has me pulling out the credit card and chanting "More points, more points". ;)

You will always have that 'anticipation' of a new resort because of the 'unknown'. You are curious to find out what it will be like and such. But, the only new resorts that could start a huge hoopla of sales (In my opinion) would be a WDW DVC Resort on the Monorail system or a Disneyland DVC Resort to be added.

If either of those things happen, I would expect add-on mania! :p
