Polling SSR Interest

What is your level of interest?

  • I can't wait to buy! It will be my first DVC purchase

  • I can't wait for sales to start. I want to make an add-on of less than 100 points.

  • I can't wait to add-on either. But, I want 100 or more points.

  • I'm interested in purchasing SSR as my first DVC but I want more information first.

  • I'm interested in an add-on but I want more information first.

  • Currently I have no interest in SSR as my first DVC purchase.

  • Currently, I have no interest in SSR as an add-on but I'm open to changing my mind.

  • I doubt I will add-on at SSR.

I doubt I would be interested since we own OKW, and the SSR is close by, and not as big a rooms.

But, the only new resorts that could start a huge hoopla of sales (In my opinion) would be a WDW DVC Resort on the Monorail system or a Disneyland DVC Resort to be added.

If either of those things happen, I would expect add-on mania! :p

I agree! I have absolutely no interest in adding on at SSR. But make a DVC Poly or a DVC AKL and I would add on in a second!

I don't really like the idea of DVC resorts at OTHER WDW hotels. I prefer that they be exclusive like OKW and now SSR, but I think they are making a mistake by making the rooms too small for the type of resort it is. It should be a stand alone resort like OKW , and they seem to be making it a combination of the hotel type and vacation home type.

Isnt it funny what how people's goals are different. I am the same age, okay 31, and I have no current interest in the extra 10 yrs. I figure, by the time I am in my late 60's/early 70's, I hope to be retired somewhere closer to WDW!!!!

I live in New England and love the seasons, and we plan to retire here. And we've watched countless people move "closer" to Disney and it destroyed the magic for them, including my SIL who now works for Disney and my ILs who retired there. It's just not special now that they can go everyday.

We also love the idea that we can trade in our points for say, a week in Hawaii or to go to Disneyland Paris! The way I see it, 10 extra years of free vacations -- especially during retirement -- when I was ready to pay basically the same price to add-on at OKW makes sense no matter where we live!

I voted for more information - need to see exact room sizes and layouts

Thanks

According ot my guide yesterday, the room size is very similar to BCV.

I'm a DVC window shopper; we're never quite ready to take the plunge but I'm always trying to keep up with what's going on. I'm surprised myself, but I find SS kind of intriguing. I've never been interested in OKW for anything but room size and point structure-- and we'd occasionally do studios if we did dvc and I do not like OKW studios. Also, I'm not a big pink person. Just a personal preference, but OKW is pretty pink inside. I really like the artist's sketches I have seen of SS, and the pool looks wonderful. I can't wait to see room models.

I'm still interested in the Crescent Lake dvcs for convenience-- as a family, our ideal buy-in would be 150 points BWV, 150 points SS! But, we're not ready to take the plunge as a family, and our WDW vacations are spread out enough that it isn't really worthwhile. If we buy in, we'll be looking at resales further down the road. But I wanted to leap in and say SS may have more to offer than meets the eye. I think it may be a very special place in its own way.

Are there GVs there, or not?

We purchased at BWV for the location. So SSR does not appeal to us for now.

We've only stayed at OKW due to late change in plans(OKW seems to be the only WDW DVC available on short notice) and my DW liked having the car near by. So if SSR has a similar arrangements than we will definitely try a stay sometime.

Thanks - if rooms are same size as BCV and dues are around $3.80 plus the location and points>OKW then I do not see the point - the 12 years are not critical to us at this stage

Thanks
