We just got back from a few days at the Dolphin and a few days at BWV. I was struck at how few TV channels we have at our DVC resorts especially when compared to the Dolphin. I would like see a few more choices like Fox News, TLC, History Channel and the Discovery Channel. I don't spend a lot of time watching TV while there but when I do I would like a few more choices. How about you?

I wouldn't mind a few more "basic cable" choices, but it's not a big deal to me. My teenage daughters complain about it every time though, so maybe for my ears' sake I should have voted yes. ;)

Watching TV is not on my list of things to do at WDW.

I too, would like to see more TV choices. FOX news, HGTV, and QVC are 3 of my favorites. The exclusive old Disney cartoons channel for some of the Disney resorts seem to not be at ALL the resorts. What is that about?:confused3 My kids and I like that channel and we miss it when its not offered at some the DVC's where we have stayed.

I don't usually watch TV at WDW either, but I do like a news recap before bed.
I think the addition of Fox News would be nice.

What I don't need is 18 channels of the Home Shopping Network. :smokin:

Yes! Fox News!! And the Discovery Channels would be nice.
TCM would be wonderful! That's all. :thumbsup2

I voted no. Watch alot of tv at home and don't wont to be tempted on vacation.

I voted No. My kids were happy with the choices and so that makes me happy. The only time I might watch TV is at the end of the day to get a sports update or to see what's going on in the news. CNN is fine with me but I do prefer MSNBC.

Yes, I would like more channel choices. After being members for going on 6 years, we do like to relax at the resort some and watch movies. We like the history, discovery, Sci fi (Tapps on Wednesday night), travel, AMC, TCM and I miss not having more choices on vacation. Also, what's up with the Disney classic cartoon channel only being at certain resorts? I think it's 96. We can get it at VWL, but we couldn't get it at SSR or OKW.

Personally, we dont watch it much when on vacation. We try to stay out of reality during that time. (Tivo at home takes care of the rest.)

But to have a classic cartoon station (the one that is mentioned a couple of times here) would be a great addition across the resort hotels. My son loves to watch a cartoon before going to bed and this would help.

I don't watch much TV when we're there, but my mother was a bit disappointed when we arrived and there was no TBS and she couldn't watch the Red Sox playoff game! And (I know, gasp!) the kids would love Nickelodeon, though I'm sure that's not going to happen!!

Speaking just for myself, I would never watch them; don't want them. I don't want the real world leaking into my Disney vacation. The only reason the TV gets turn on at-all is that my nephew's have a Stacy fixation.

Voted yes; Don't spend a lot of time watching TV but do some before bed etc. Was shocked to not get TBS and be able to watch the MLB AL division series games. Hadn't even considered it wouldn't be there and then surprise!

As mentioned earlier, there needs to be a guarantee that the classic Disney cartoons that are looped in all of the lobbies are in every resort room. Our last trip we stayed at 3 resorts with only one, BCV, having this channel. This is our wind down before bed channel when at WDW. My DD4 talked about watching the old cartoons for months before we went and we were pretty disappointed when we couldn't find them. I know that this is a very minor thing, but when a 4 year old gets something in their head, it is hard to get it out.

I would like the bedtime stories channel back, but that is for a different thread.

I don't go to WDW to watch TV. That being said, it would be nice to watch a late-night football game if one were on. :)

I voted no because we don't watch tv at WDW. I turn it on in the morning for the weather report for the day and that's about it. I couldn't tell you what channels are available now or which are missing- I don't care.

I voted "no" to more choices from our point of view, anyway. My boys love watching the channel with Stacy's "Top 7 Things to Do at WDW". When we are in the villa, that station is on one of the TVs! My son wondered the other day if they sell a DVD of her show....anyone know??!

spend all that money on dvc to order room service and watch tv
I think not

Well, I haven't tried room service but I do enjoy watching TV before I fall asleep, especially when I am there alone. I guess I'm just a creature of habit and want to watch certain things whether I'm on vacation or not.
Does a run for a sandwich from BW Bakery count as room service?
YUM!

Yes, I think the news/weather channels are pretty pathetic on the local channels down there. My wife likes to watch HGTV when she goes to bed too, so it would help her sleep.;)
