We have never been to HS before. And TSL will be the only area there that offers rides that my youngest will be tall enough to go on. I hope so much to be able to snag FP+ for us on Slinky Dog!
My planning-loving-self is just stoked to see how this all plays out in July/August so that I can have an idea of how to play for our Oct trip!

Oh I agree with you 100% on what to do after TSL opens. I just like to kvetch about them closing my favorite ride TGMR.

Me too. GAMR was one of my favorite in Disney. I don't like coasters or a lot of the rides because I have vertigo. GAMR was a great ride, I still can't believe Disney closed it. It was a classic.

My son hates 7DMT so I assume he’ll also hate Slinky Dog. So we’ll FP TSMM for sure.

I don't think I would FP it, but I wouldn't discount how much fun the Alien Saucers may be.
It's supposed to be something like Mater's Junkyard Jamboree in Disneyland, correct? That was s surprisingly fun ride that has become a favorite for us and many other families too. Lots of laughing!

many families may have kiddos who aren't ready for the Slinky Dog Coaster, too, and this could be an option during a rider swap or something that everyone can enjoy together.

I'm trying to rejig my plans so that we have a second day at HS while we are onsite. It'll probably be a half-day either going along in the evening after doing one of the water parks earlier in the day, or going along on the day we leave our on-site resort and move to our off-site villa.

SO my plan as it currently stands is:

Day 60 + 1: 1st HS day. My son and I are going to the ADR breakfast so that he can sign up for Jedi Training. My wife and daughters will make RD and we'll head to Alien Saucers. Mainly because that's the one that they'll miss least if they don't make RD. Then FP for TSMM.

Day 60 + 6: 2nd HS day. We're checking out of our resort, but don't pick up our rental car until 3:00, so head first to HS and FP Slinky.

Depending on times for Fantasmic and Star Wars GS, we may have another half-day during the off-site stay, so we may be able to get another day 60 FP booked during that period. If we do that we'll for for Alien Saucers if the girls missed it earlier in the trip, or TSMM if they didn't. I don't fancy our chances of getting Slinky Dash during the rolling 60-day window.

Assuming I can get SDD at a time after sunset, I'll go with it for one day (because summer = HOT and we try to do outdoor things after dark.) But I imagine it'll be a one-and-done for us, so TSM after that. I can happily live the rest of my life without Aliens, lol!

I'm only planning for one morning at DHS on our 10 day trip. It will be our 60+6 so I'm assuming/hoping there will be availability for SDD. We'll rope drop one of the others and hope for a 4th FP+ for the other on one of our evenings there.

We have done TSM enough here and at Disneyland. I am planning on doing it at rope drop and have a FP for SDD. I am looking forward to the aliens saucers because I love MJJ at DL. I am not willing to waste a FP on it though. We are going in December, so hopefully they will have the touring plans figured out be then.

Going for 8 days over Thanksgiving. Will be fastpassing all 4 parks twice. Planning on TSM & Slinky as tier ones on separate days and doing Alien Saucers at rope drop.

How did the third track impact the waits at TSMM? I know there's a lack of overall attractions at HS, but I thought I read the waits improved greatly once they added the third track.

We will try for Slinky Dog Coaster. Then second tier I guess we'll get TOT and Star Tours?

I would expect the extra people in the park once Toy Story opens will be larger than the number the third track can accommodate so overall wait times will increase at TSMM (at least in the short term) over what we have seen in the past.

I agree. Wait times at RD are going to be insane for all the TSL attractions.

It's going to be similar to Pandora. At least Pandora only had two attractions. We FP the banshee ride and were able to get on the boat ride at RD with no wait. I don't know how to plan TSL yet.

Now that Toy Story is open, how did we do with our crowd sourced predictions of almost 80% going Slinky Dog?

We got our FPs today and we did TSM for our full day and Alien Saucers for our 1/2 day. My DH isn't big on coasters and I wasn't sure of the speed. I didn't want to 'waste' a FP so I went with the sure bets.

Really not a fan of mobs of people so plan to avoid the dash to tsl and opting to skip slinky dog and the flying saucers altogether.

Instead got a fast pass for toy story mania and will enjoy that along with the visuals of the land when it isnt uber crowded.

Maybe we will do the two new rides after star wars land opens and skip star wars then

Well, I can tell you this,
Alien and Toy Story were extremely easy to get same day FP for. as 4th, 5th, etc. Slinky even popped up once or twice.
So the clear cut choice is book Slinky dog in advance. You'll get the others as your extra FP that day, even if you have to do overlapping. Unless you have a party of 10 or something. Then it may be more difficult.
