My sis and I are planning a meal together for our December trip.

We’ve both been to Blue Bayou, Plaza Inn breakfast & WCT.

The Carthay Circle menu doesn’t appeal. I’m a peskitarian.

Where would you go and why?

We come annually and are familiar with the parks.

Napa Rose! They have wonderful fish dishes.

Trader Sam's is a bar; crowded, dark, and the food/service are mediocre at best. We have given multiple chances thinking maybe we went on an off night but they can't all be off nights. I wanted to love it.

I loved sitting outside on the couches on the lanai with the tiki torches and live Hawaiian music! Very casual but great vibe!

Have you looked at the menu for Catal? If that will work for you, it can be very nice to have dinner there on the balcony or inside by the large windows which overlook UVA Bar. (UVA Bar might work, too, if you're in the mood for casual -- we like the fish tacos there.) If you time your meal just right, you can have dessert while watching the fireworks. I totally understand wanting to save NR for dinner with your DH. But Catal, or even the Jazz Kitchen, might work out for a fun meal with your sister.

ETA: The new restaurants in DTD might be open by the time of your trip -- so check those menus, too, to see if they interest you.

Since you’re saving NR for your DH, I’d go Trader Sam’s if the menu looks fine for your dietary restrictions. Fun place for friends/sisters!

Another vote for Trader Sam's. I love the DLH, and I think that would be a fun sister date (if I could ever get my lil sis to Disney:sad:)!

I'm so glad! We had 2 great visits there and then the last few have not been good. :( We prefer to sit at the new Naples bar at dusk. Its so pretty and the food service have been outstanding. I am sure we will give Trader Sam's another try at some point in the future but for now, I am happy with the other many options. Hearthstone at the GCH is one of our favorites. Its consistently wonderful.
