Wondering if you tend to get motion sickness but still push through the rides. Which is worse Mission Space or the New Soarin ride? Haven't been to florida yet with soarin open, but I'm concerned about soarin because those type of movies always bother me. IE: Canada, China, France, scenes in ellen's energy adventure (movie portion). The sweeping landscape scenes. :confused3

What do you think?

Mission Space is definitely worse, I didn't like it. Soarin' was nice and easy, liked it. But if Canada bothered you, Soarin' may also.

mission space for sure!!!

i am a thrill rider! i love roller coasters, but you get a different feeling from mission space. the first time i went on it when it first opened, i came out of it just a little dizzy. a year & 1/2 later, when i went on it i came out of it, felt very dizzy and nauseated. i don't know if they up'd it or not, but it messes with your equilibrium.

soaring, did not. it felt kinda like a "ski lift" feeling...

good luck!

I've been in MS 3 times. Follow all the rules, no eating, eyes on screen, stay relaxed, breath slowly, felt some pressure and the equilibrium off but no nausea. But during those sweeping movies I just shut my eyes. If it feels like a chair lift the movie moves slowly? If it is a slow sweeping action, should be ok. I am not worried about the height, or the chair part, just the movement of the movie. I hate to take an airsick bag with me, on a gentle ride, and freak out, 3 rows of people.

I'm 37 and I have never felt sick after any ride at an amusement park in my life (including Soarin), but Mission Space did it for me. Another minute in there and I would have used one of those barf bags. :crazy2:

DH and I rode both Mission Space and Soarin'. We both took Dramaine prior to MS, and we both got nauseous. I followed the instructions about looking forward, breathing slowly, etc, and still felt nauseous.

I was fine on Soarin'; DH was okay until the part where you "fly" over LA at night. Then he felt a little sick.

So overall my vote for the worst as far as motion sickness goes would be Mission Space.

Btw... Soarin' is awesome! I can't wait to go back and ride it again. :cool1:

Soarin' is AWESOME!! I rode it 9 or 10 times in 3 days! I'm NOT prone to motion sickness, but Mission Space is definitely not for someone who is! The past few visits when I've ridden it, I haven't enjoyed the *sensation* at all!

I'm not really prone to motion sickness, but I do get seasick. MS made me feel the way I feel when I get seasick.

I guess a problem I had with the motion sickness warning on MS is that I saw the same warning on a few different rides there, so I ignored it because none of those rides caused any problems. But MS is much more intense than the others. (When I saw the barf bags, I had a feeling I was in trouble...)

DH will NOT be able to ride MS :( but I am dying to ride, despite the warnings. I am a glutton for punishment LOL And I cannot WAIT for Soarin'!

Mission Space is worse but nothing compared to Alladin VR at DQ. That is truly a chunder generator.

Soarin' was a great ride. I didn't feel bad on that at all.
MS-Oh lordy!
I also thought the warnings were overdone, but not on that ride! I actually grabbed the barf bag before the ride started, just in case I got disoriented and couldn't find it if needed.
I thought I was going to die on that ride. I started to shake. Thank goodness my husband kept talking through the ride or I would have lost it. When we 'landed' on Mars the ony thought I had was, "I sure hope we don't have to fly back to Earth now!" Super! The ride was over!
We later went on Star Wars and I started to freak and actually left the line! The flashbacks to MS were too much.

MS I would think! It spins, you're basicly in a centerfuge!

Soarin' did trigger my fear of heights unlike any ride I've ever been on, so if you are affraid of heights it could be a problem.

ME TOO! If we had to fly back, I was ready to "eject"!

Star Wars was child's play compared to MS.

Mission Space without question is MUCH more intense than Soarin'.

I'll join everyone else in saying, Soarin is awesome, I almost lost my cookie ice cream sandwich on Mission Space. I was sick for about three hours after!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!

So no one has gotten motion sick from the MOVIE on soarin? I really don't want to be holden the "bag" in a row of 10 and 1 of 3  I guess I could do the eye shut thing if I have to. I am not really worried about the ride itself, just that type of movie really bothers me. Have rode MS 3X but not crazy about it.

Thanks, Mky princess:
