How many people think water shoes are a must have for doing Castaway Cay snorkeling? Just not sure if these are something I should pick up or are they a waste of money. Thanks

I've never used water shoes for snorkeling - just walking on the beach. We use flippers - which are a must - for snorkeling. Not sure how to vote.

I found the bottom of castaway cay to be a little hard on the feet so we wore our water shoes, plus the paths there are VERY hot and we couldn't have walked to lunch with bare feet or they would have burned! But as far as snorkling, wouldn't you be wearing flippers, Ive never used water shoes under flippers.....

better to be safe then sorry. you never know what you will find on a path or in the sand. my family and i always use them cause the walkways get real hot walking to get lunch

Well, the water shoes come in very handy for walking around on Castaway Cay. However, they won't work for snorkeling. Flippers are required for snorkeling.
