Poll: Teacher assignments..when do you know?

OK, I voted wrong. I said "June" but I thought the question was when do teachers know their assignments for the next teaching year--whoops.
My elementary kids find out the Friday before school starts. They "post the list" at 3PM. It is a huge deal with crowds of kids jockeying around these lists they post on the door. Of course I am there when I can be, but this year I'll be working until 2:45 and we will be about 15 minutes late--not that it changes anything to not be there at 3PM on the dot!
DD#1 is in jr. high and got her schedule at the end of July.

We get a postcard in the mail in July for Elementary School. My Middle Schooler recieved his schedule about the 1st week of August - his homeroom will stay the same all 3 yrs.

Our elementary school actually sets the class assignments in March but doesn't inform the students/parents until July. (If you ask, they will usually tell you they "think" it is with a big don't hold me to that - some parents then complain and switch their kids around.)
Our old Catholic school put next year's class assignment on the final report card which is issued the last day of school.

I have one starting middle school that already knows her team , teachers and schedule , the funny thing is I e-mailed one of her teachers ( that I know from school ) and he said he still does not have a list of the people in his class.
We did not get a school supply list or anything , however this teacher has a list in his website and there's only one thing I have to wait for , folders because I know they have certain colors for certain subjects and I don't know what they are, everything else I already have.
The youngest is going into third grade and her assignment letter went out yesterday which means I will get today or monday in the mail. I am hoping for a particular teacher but if I don't get my wish , I will not do anything about it because the other ones are also fine teachers and for all I know it could work better than the one I wish.
We have an open school the friday before school starts so parents and kids can visit the school and find out where their classroom is , that is really good for new students. The classrooms used to be open on that day until two years ago , people started stealing things , so now unless the teacher is in the class doing something , the doors are closed, the lights are on but the door is locked.
