I am imparting my wisdom upon the masses

The schedule will change as follows

Zoo tag swap

------->Sign ups 7/6 due date 8/24

Shows and Parades
-------->sign ups 7/9 due date 8/24
both are going to the same place so that makes it easy for everyone

Tag book (moved)
----------> sign ups 8/2 due date 9/24
this gives 7 weeks so those who need tags cut will have time to work on them.

K?K!!!!! any questions?

And don't forget that we are having a second chance swap in October for those who don't get to sign up the first time!

So is the tag book out of the zoo plan or was it always separate? I confuse easily:thumbsup2

What's the second chance swap?

This is torture talking about this zoo swap with two weeks to go to signups and I've got my eyeball out for the newbie epcot swap - I only have MK stuff so far (and disney surprise en route soon:))

How do you ladies get any actual scrapbooks done with all the swaps? I have to do the last disney trip before the next one in November (then it stays fun instead of work) and I've recently decided to just scrap pages of events as they happen instead of trying to turn my poor son's book that only goes through 3 (he's 6) into something eventually!

Thanks, Buffy! Those dates look much better. I would like to try my hand at the tag book swap and there was no way I could before. Yippee!! :cool1:

You have hit the nail on the head. Welcome to the dark side, missesdisney - once you get hooked on swaps, kiss any hope of finishing actual scrapbooks goodbye!:lmao:

I'd also like to know about the tag book topic. I have no use for a zoo-themed one, but other topics may be interesting.

there will still be a tag group for the Zoo.

The second chance swap is a bunch of little groups for those who missed out on the original swaps the first time around. here is a link:

as for scrapping, I don't know what you are talking about, what is scrapping?? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I have 4 WDW trips from 2005 and March 2007 to scrap before our next one. Thank goodness that is a few years away, with the exception of the DIS Scrappers trip in Aug 2008. More on that later! ;)

we're still hashing that out, stay tuned......

Fine with me :) I will be gone for a week in the middle, but that'll be fine :)

If I'm not too late, I'll add my $.02 for what it's worth with the rising costs of inflation. Maybe I should make it $.03 to factor in late fees.

I like the idea of tags with the animal/biome stuff and the idea of "zoo" tags. I don't think I could use a whole group's worth of tags that say, "zoo" though. Maybe we could have a couple of "zoo slots" within tag groups so that we could get an assortment with a few "zoo" tags and the animal/biome tags.

Is the tag book idea to do one two-sided tag per person?

Do we plan for vertical or horizontal tags when it comes to the book so that they are all going the same way?

Do we have to buy a certain binding thingy, or will we get our book tags loose so that we can bind them whichever way we want?

I've read a couple of posts that give me impression that Bazzill in certain colors may be a requirement for some (or all) of this swap (or maybe I misunderstood). That's not readily available where I am. Is DCWV an acceptable substitute? (I've read some swaps where that was okay.)

This sounds like a great swap. Thanks for hostessing and putting so much forethought into it.

The tag book will be a double-sided tag. They'll be loose for binding on your own.

For the books, I don't know about one color throughout. I mean a Mickey & Friends Group would want all kinds of bright colors IMHO. Should probably start a new thread about that

The answers to your questions are in red! ;)

If you would like in you can grab a spot in the misc. group (kind of an any thing goes) to grab a zoo element. I plan on using the zoo group tags for my kids' personal albums... I have 5 kids...so the group helps me tremendously...but that is just me...

Is the tag book idea to do one two-sided tag per person? Yes, one tag, two sided per person...so if we have 10 participants, you'll make 10 double sided tags. We are going to finalize the tag, size, and base color this week for the ZOO TAG SWAP BOOK ONLY!!!.. I have to put it in my notes... I'll update that later...The tags for the tag book will all match..size and shape

Do we plan for vertical or horizontal tags when it comes to the book so that they are all going the same way? The book will go horizontal.

Do we have to buy a certain binding thingy, or will we get our book tags loose so that we can bind them whichever way we want? No, you will bind on your own... sorry but I think each person has their own preference on that...and it's up to them! ;)

Bazzil is not a requirement... we just need to make sure for the tag book it's self the tags are sturdy...so DCWV should work.

This sounds like a great swap. Thanks for hostessing and putting so much forethought into it.

Nancy mentioned that she was considering having a couple of groups just for zoo tags and the rest will be themed otherwise (non-zoo specific). I think some people have zoos close to their areas and other's live quite a ways from a zoo and don't have as many pics. Heck, where I'm at, we have polar bears, you name it at our zoos, but that's not typical of many or most areas.
Also, Bazzill is readily available at every LSS here, but not in a lot of areas.

Our zoo is 25 minutes away....and we visit there 3-4 times a month.... always something new.. We need to go down on Sunday...because they opened the new Oceans building and we can now "pet" sharks!!! Woo hoo! That'll be the closest I ever have my kids to sharks...let alone myself!
