Poll, returners from Costa Maya, help please!

We also took a taxi to majahual ? $5 pp return you get a cab there for $3 pp and a cab back for $2 pp , the beach was lovely , chairs and tables free but we ordered drinks and snacks from the bars $1 for coke and $2 for a huge plate of nachos and guacomole, they also had freshly caught and cooked red snapper which looked lovely, had a beach massage $20 for 30 mins, lovely but word of caution reapply sunblock afterwards as they use oil ( i forgot and got burnt) it is very poor and the vendors do invite you into their stores but we found a polite no gracias worked and carried on walking, at no time was anyone rude or pushy to us. I had a great time and the snorkelling was good. You can book fishing, snorkelling, ruins and other tours at the dock for a fraction of the DCL price.

We are leaving this Saturday and my dd and friend are riding the horses on the beach and meeting us at the beach at Majahaul afterwards. Where do you think is a good place to meet up? I have never been to Mexico but one time my dd got very very sick from eating there. Is it really safe to order food at Costa Maya?

I've eaten food many times in Mexico without a problem. The food at Tequila Beach was yummy and well prepared. So yes it's safe to eat at tequila beach. Meet your friend there. It's the meeting point/ drop off/ pick up in the town for riding. If your friend takes a cab to the town that's where they will be dropped off.
Since you are riding you will get a coupon for a free drink at the beach, go for the margaritas!!! I have never had a maragrita that was fresh squeezed.There was pulp from the fresh squeezed limes in it, so wonderful!

Let me get this straight...........children under 10 are not allowed on the DCL snorkeling excursion? What is up with that?

DCL has all kinds of age resrictions for their excursions. Have kids under 10? Wanna boat, wanna kayack? Forgettabout it. The Costa Maya snorkel boat excursion is restricted to kids over 10, part of the main reason why I started this thread. My kids are pretty good snorkelers and do more advanced areas than most of the ADULTS who cruise Disney. But.....

abitjaded: Thank you and I agree. I think DCL should have more options for younger children who can swim. My children just turned 5 & 6 a couple of weeks ago and are good swimmers. They have also been practicing their snorkeling all summer long for Stingray City which will now most likely not happen.

Another question: Is Tequila beach the same beach as Mejahaul beach?

Tequila beach is at one end of the beach in Majahaul, I thought the beach looked nicer a little farther down past Tequila (mainly because before you get to Tequila there is quite a lot of litter strewn about). Tequila is the first beach bar you hit as you enter Majahaul.

We also had planned for our kids to join us at Stingray city in GC (we had booked with Nativeway)so I was quite bummed that my little ones (7 and 4) could not join us in a snorkeling excursion this trip. They ended up staying in programming all day while we did the Costa Maya boat snorkel. Yes, we had a great time snorkeling as the weather/water was perfect but I felt bad leaving the DD and DS for 4 hrs.
