Poll-Renting 450 points or greater

I'm curious, since I need to rent 450-600 points in summer 2018. (unlimited response choice in the poll)

There are people who would rent that many, but that's a lot of money and trust. I would look into getting more points of your own if you need that many. A 160-pt contract with bank and borrow would get you 480, whereas renting that many is a big chunk of cash that could be used toward a purchase.

I rented out that many points - 450 a few times. I like using Davids instead of the boards. Easy and I can rent out my points easily.

That is a lot of points. Since you don't think you'll do this more than every 3 years and your planned stay isn't until summer, 2018, I'd try to work something out now for an owner to "save" points for you. There are occasionally offers to rent that many points on the DIS Rent/Trade Forum. In other words, you might try to get an agreement to rent that amount in 2018 before the owner offers them to others and his/her available "stash to rent" dips below what you need.

You could try the same thing with Daddio - I believe he owns some points & may sometimes rent them. His contact info is in the first post of the thread he maintains on the R/T Forum.

If you don't mind making multiple reservations I'm sure David's would be able to rent out all if not most of your points for sure!

I have 670 points per year and recently moved to Orlando to be closer to the mouse. I have been going back and forth about selling my contract. However, I rented my points for this year and if I do have my points in 2018, I'd be willing to rent them out to you.

Otherwise, I know there are plenty of ways to get the points. One thing you can do is buy a small contract (80 points or something low) and when you rent points from someone, have him/her transfer them to you. That way, you retain control of the points.

Also, if you have a friend or family member who is a DVC member (my mother is also DVC), you can ask them to manage the reservation for you and have the points transferred in to his/her account so that you continue to retain control of the points. David's is certainly a great option, you certainly have satisfaction and of course you have peace of mind, but you are paying a premium for that.
