If you are a CM (disney employee), what kinds of discounts for resort rooms and theme park tickets do you receive? What kinds of resort rooms and theme park ticket discounts are you able to provide your friends/family per calendar year? I'm interested in becoming a CM and would love to know:)

ooooohh! Good question! I would love to know too! I told DH I was moving to Orlando and going to work for Disney! LOL

I'm not a CM but my brother, sister-in-law, and my uncle all are. I was talking to my brother the other day and learned some of this and already knew some because of my uncle.

CMs get discounts varying from 25% to 40% on resorts depending on resort, time of year, and crowds. For the trip my family is taking next month my brother was able to get us a 40% discount at PO:RS.

CMs can get up to three people in a day (all at the same time). At first they can do so many times in, I believe, a six month period and eventually they can get three in a day with no usage limit (AFAIK). There are certain days that are blacked out for these passes (New Years for instance). They also get free tickets every so often, my brother told me yesterday that at the beginning of next month they will be mailing out to CMs 2 free tickets to use as they please except selling.

CMs get discounts on tickets to the waterparks and DisneyQuest. They also get discounts on merchandise, I can't remember the starting discount but eventually it gets to 35%. They can also get discounts on tours (brother is getting me a 50% discount for the Steam Trains tour).

I do not know about buying park tickets. I do not believe it is much as my aunt is buying a pass through AAA for the fourth member of our party.

I too dream of working for Disney. Once I'm out of school I plan to move down there and get a job. There is a lot of room for advancement there as you name a job there is probably a position for that job at WDW. My uncle started out as a dishwasher at King Stefan's Table (now Cinderella's Royal Table) in highschool and now, many years later, he is a head engineer. I've heard of a number of people who's done similar things.

wow...those are great discounts. can you buy discounted theme park tickets thru your family members that work at disney? how much is the discount? my friend works in disney...my wife and i are going to disney for 4 nights in august. i already booked a room at the poly thru AAA. i wonder what he'll be able to do for us if anything regarding the room rate and theme park tickets.

As I said, I don't know about buying tickets through family member CMs. I doubt there would be much, if any, discount for the Poly as it is a high-end resort and I would think usually pretty full. One of the reasons they give CMs discounts on results, especially larger discounts, is to help fill up more rooms.

My parents are CM's and they get 35% discount on merchandise and food, 3 people in the park 17 times per year (They have been there 5 years), They get the free tickets that a pp mentioned 2x per year, usually July and Christmas Time. Also, at Christmas they get 2 50% off vouchers for food to use anywhere. They can also buy discounted tickets for other people at Company D (The company store). I think that discount is something like 20%,but don't quote me on that.

For rooms they can get 40% for family & friends, but 50% if they are staying with the family & friends.

They only work p/t (they are 71 & 78 this year) and my mom told me to keep all of the perks they only have to work one day per month.....They work 2 -3 days per week.

The moderators say this gets confusing for people, when they are looking for information on a particular topic.....they don't know where to answer.

Plus, I think it is listed in the guidelines on the board.

I personally don't care, just trying to help her out before she gets a warning....:goodvibes

anyway I want to work there not for those reasons just to do it. Did they just up and move and apply?
