Poll on lines.

Would you alter the way you tour WDW to avoid long lines? (20 min or more.)

  • No, long lines don't bother me. I am at Disney and that is all that matters.

  • Long Lines bother me but I don't want to follow a touring plan.

  • Long Lines bother me and I would do some simple planning to avoid them.

  • Long lines bother me and I would create touring plans / best days/ start early to avoid them.

On our recent trip, we avoided EMH parks (did the next day strategy) and went early in the morning. We did everything we wanted with minimal waits. I usually reserve the shows for early afternoon and it is rare that you cannot get in right away.

See this is the one rule I don't follow. I still do EMH days, b/c EMH is so much fun!! What I like to do is hit one park then go to the EMH park 2 hours before to get my wristband, eat dinner at the EMH park, then play in the park! All the early morning EMH's were dead! We did 7 attractions in one hour last trip. Highly enjoyable.

Not a fan of huge lines. Usually as soon as we walk into MK we head to the train to take it to Frontierland for Splash Mountain and Big Thunder. The line for Splash was huge, it ran all through the courtyard. So we stayed on the train and took it to ToonTown. Decided to walk to Tomorrowland. DD walked onto Teacups, had about a 10 min wait for Indy, got FPs for Space Mountain while she was in line, Walked onto Space mountain back to back 3 times before our FP time, ended up giving them away. 5 mins for Buzz, walked onto Stitch, TTA, and COP. It was amazing that Tomorrowland was so quiet as opposed to Frontierland. But thats what you learn in the books that most people start the morning off in Tomorrowland. We always start MK off in Frontierland.

I never plan which park in advance unless we want lunch at MGM then I will plan it like that but otherwise we go with what we feel like riding.

I don't like lines (who does?)
Hard to believe, but there are those who have stated that they genuinely don't mind the lines, and use the time to catch up, talk about the day....

(Which is fine with me, I don't have to understand it...) :goodvibes :goodvibes

I voted for the last option.. *For me* it's worth the extra $$$ to get expert info. Actually, I got my TGM membership free when I booked my vacation package thru TMFL travel, but if I hadn't, I would have spent the $20. I also bought the UG. I went to WDW w/my DH almost 10 years ago, when we were younger and freer (read: NO KIDS then!!) So, the time, effort, and yes, money I'm spending now will hopefully pay off when we go.

And I love planning the trip, to me it adds to the experience. I'm sure there are those that don't understand that, but that's okay.... different strokes...

Enjoy your trips everyone!!

I picked: Long lines bother me and I would create touring plans / best days/ start early to avoid them.

But I have to say that for me, planning is half the fun of going! I really love to read up on the rides/parks/resorts and discover new things that I didn't know before.

eta: But I don't stress when I'm there, if my "plan" gets messed up b/c we stopped to smell the roses, then so be it. I'm there to have fun above all else. And that's why I like to plan, plan, plan so I can have the freedom to do whatever and still know the best times/ways to avoid long lines.

I refuse to wait in long lines.

I've never had a problem with getting FP's for rides, or for non FP things, checking back at a different time of day. I think the longest I have ever waited in a line since the advent of the FP is maybe 10-15 minutes.
