POLL: New Resorts+Add On = More Renting?

Just a thought I had when reading all the posts from people eager to add on at the new resorts. If Disney comes out with desirable new resorts at the CR or AKL, will this lead to more renting? Fire sales at the existing resorts? Longer/More visits for current members?

For me, we don't currently have enough points each year, so this would help supplement our total points that we need already anyway.

We don't technically need any more points, but I'd like to get points at DCV and/or VAKL. However, if I did that I would likely unload my smaller OKW contract... and depending on how many points I add-on, I might sell the SSR one too... still up in the air though... a lot depends on the cost per point, the MFs, and the point charts.

For me personally, I know have more points than I really need (for now anyway) so I would probably not add-on. Just keep what I have and hope to take advantage of staying at one of the proposed resorts through a waitlist request. If it happens great...if not, the other resorts are just as nice.

fire sales - don't think so - there will always be member who don't understand the system and have fire sales now... so that won't change.

I really think CR will be a big rental for new families. Kids little enough to believe that the MK is real.... of course since these are the people more likely to buy DVC - I don't think DVC will mind at all.

I'd like to add on and just use more points per year. I'm only interested in CRV, not VAKL. But I cannot predict the future and stuff happens, I had to rent out some points this year.
