Trying to decide whether to spend the money or not, since it's practically in our backyard....

We've talked my inlaws out of the HDDR, and I know they'll still be hoping for something...

I'm hoping to keep them happy with the Ohana supper and maybe dinner at 1900 Park Fare with the royals...but one of the reasons we're at the cabins is to save money on meals!

Looking forward to feedback,

Kris

I haven't been yet. But am intrested. I would like to hear about how it is too.

I guess I'm surprised you talked them out of the HDD. At $50 I know it can become expensive, but I think it's a great show for the price. And most people enjoy the ribs, chicken, strawberry shortcake, beer, and sangria. Mickey's BBQ is a different experience. Rather than the show, and food served family style at tables, it's similar food (no strawberry shortcake) served in buffet lines and seating at long communal picnic tables. The entertainment is roping, line dancing, country songs, character meets and a special dance for folks celebrating special events. It's only $10 less per adult. If you were going to do one special experience, I might opt for the HDD. I've done both and enjoy them. For DH's extravagant birthday trip, we're going to HDD to celebrate his birthday.

IMHO, I do not think that either dinner, Mickeys BBQ or the HDD are worth the money. Yes, the food is good, but $50.00 is a lot of money per person for a dinner. At the BBQ it was typical picnic fare, good, but nothing to write home about. 1900 Park Fare has great food, so I would opt for there or O'Hanna's. I know a lot of people like both of these dinner shows. I agree they are good, just not worth the cost to me.

I was not pleased with Mickey Backyard BBQ. I did like HDDR.

...but I think we'll do it regardless, and skip the BBQ and the HDDR. It's just so much money, I have to agree with most of you.

We're doing Ohana, but not big show, I don't think, unless I got myself confused, I was thinking just dinner. We're not Lilo and Stitch fans, so we weren't interested in that.

Thanks again!

I've been to HDDR many times and always enjoyed myself. Went to MBYBBQ and hated it. I give it two thumbs down.

First, I did not like the way the food was served. Long lines, out of control kids, and it boardered on the unsanitary when I saw people taking something on their plate and then putting it back in the server. YUK !

Second, my wife and I put our plates down on the picnic table and then went to get a beer............and peoplejust pushed aside our food and took our spot. What made me mad was that my wife COULD NOT save our spot, as the person getting the beer MUST be present. They will NOT serve you more then one beer. The only way to not have prevented this is to go one at a time for your beer.

Needless to say when managed to weasle our way in to our original seats amongst the rude people that took our seats. But, what a mistake....their kids started a food fight amongst themselves, ending with spilled soda that went running down the long table and spilling on my pants. The parents just ignored what was going on. We left after this incident.

THE ONLY way I would ever attend this again, would be if they change it to reserved seating, with each family having its own table.
