Hi we will go to EE for the HP world even staying at Deluxe because I like walking in the morning there when it is not crowded.:thumbsup2

I will, 80% of guests will not, the park will be empty I can ride later if I wish with EP but having HP lands for ourselves is great

if the park will be empty I may just get up by myself and go:rotfl2:. DD is a true potterhead though, so that may be enough to get her up and moving early.

My "hope" is to get the family up early and go, we only have 2 days and they can sleep on the second half of the trip (disney cruise). When the rubber meets the road we'll see what happens.

Are you assuming that 80% of EE people are staying at RPR, HRH, or Portofino Bay, and that Aventura (another "value" resort with over 600 rooms and no EP) coming online next year will have no effect on EE crowds?

Probably so. I've gotten used to going at park opening time, touring through lunch, taking a break and heading back for the evening over the years. I's a tough habit to break and I doubt we will.

We are going with a family who has never been on July 3rd and only has one day. Though not on-site, we get early hour and they'll have express for this too. The plan is to still use the early hour because July 3rd will be hot and crowded - with likely rain popping up in the afternoon.

I didn't vote in the poll though because I don't think we would normally use it if we had express but the above situation is an exception. If it's not summer - or if it is summer but we are just doing a partial day - then we will prefer to sleep. (Though - if it's peak season, then it's highly likely we aren't staying onsite). Just thought of one more exception - wand usage. That early hour is a great time to use your wand without crowds so that's another reason we might get out of bed early.

when I posted my reply 80% of answers they will not do EE. It changed since

I will do EE once for each park if both are available during my stay. I would MUCH rather have the park open later than earlier tho.

Since this past week was my first experience at Universal since 2000 I was shocked that the parks closed at 9pm/10pm
With City Walk open until 2am, I would have hoped the parks would have been opened until 11pm/12am

It would be nice to have late evening hours during the heat of summer

When I go in September, the parks close at 7pm.. before it gets dark.. that sucks.

Wow! Thanks for letting me know.
Planning a Thanksgiving trip and Spring Break so I'll be sure to look at the typical hours.

I've done EE once so, nope, will not matter to me. There are lots of factors for USO not staying open late. Mainly being in a residential area. Affects the fireworks they can do also. I do agree that I hate they close early. I would love to stay late in to the night.

I'm not a morning person. I do not like to get up a minute earlier than I have to. But we always do EE every morning we are there.

We usually stay off property the arrival night because we usually get in late. We get up super early the next morning to check out of the off property hotel and move over to Universal, check in, and be at the gates for EE opening.

We don't do the hotel pools, we've never eaten at a hotel restaurant, and the room is just there for afternoon naps and sleeping at night. ;) So the three benefits for us to stay at a deluxe are: transportation to/from the parks, EE, and EP. We use the heck out of all three of them. ;)

Not likely! I'm thrilled to hear that the Potter rides will (or may?) soon have EP, and will take advantage by skipping EE. As a night owl, getting up early isn't my idea of vacation unless there's a strong advantage to it. To compound the issue, we're on Pacific time, so early morning is even earlier to our body clocks. I tend to adjust right about the point where it's time to move on to the Disney parks and resorts. But even then, I'd rather stay up late and get there in the morning whenever we happen to get there.

We might consider a day of EE at Volcano Bay, though, depending on how crowds and such are during our next visit in April.

While I'm excited that on our trip in August we will be able to use EP for all the HP rides, we will still probably do at least 1 EE and sleep in the other days. I want to see the full queue for FJ at least once but also want as much time as we can get for our first day in the parks and then slow down after that.
