Just with all the discussion of the cost of supplies, I thought this would be interesting.

Please note I am assuming prices based on "department store" marks. If you usually go to outlet malls, reduced priced stores (Marshalls, Ross, etc.), how much would you have spent at the department stores for the same items. I want everything to be on the same price scale

i have no clue what i would have spent at a department store for the same items. my kids wear uniforms, but we still pay for them. so, we buy them at target, cause they are pretty much the same everywhere.

We don't do any special shopping. We usually but jeans since he doesn't wear them during the summer and outgrows them by fall.

I try to pick things up year round off the sale racks so I don't have to do huge shopping trips for back to school. Also, it stays so hot here into Oct., that it is easier to pick up a few end of season items so they have new things for school.

For my three kids I will probably spend around a total of 250, with a good chunk of it going towards shoes. You just have to have new school shoes. :sunny:

I also have no idea what stuff costs at department stores. I buy each kid one complete new outfit at the beginning of the year, and maybe jeans for those who have outgrown them. My teens get most of their clothes at Old Navy, and my 6yo at Target or WalMart. I voted less than $100 per kid.

Your going to laugh at this but I went to Goodwill and spent $60.00for everything. Got 4 pairs of jeans in awesome shape with 8 tops along with a jean jacket for my DD.
DONE!

I buy them clothing all year long. 95% of their wardrobe is Ralph Lauren bought in department stores at 75%+ off. I probably spend about $250 pr kid per year excluding shoes and a winter coat.

I voted less than $100. DS goes to a private school and has a uniform--black pants or shorts and either white or burgandy polo shirt. I get the shirts for about $7 each (he gets 5 burgandy--can't trust a 10 year old in white~!~) the pants are about $14 each and he gets 3 pair. So that's it. I usually have some spares around from the previous year if I don't wash every day. He's been about the same size for 3 years now!

I don't have a specific budget. I usually buy long pants late in September because my son has been known to grown a lot in 6 weeks. School is a month away here. Do we HAVE to talk about this? lol!

Over $500, admitting here. I do "Back To School" shopping.
I like to do it all at once and be done. I always say I will shop through the year and never do it.:rolleyes1 I pick up things sometimes throughout the year as needed, but generally getting my kids out to shop is like pulling teeth.

well, so far I've only bought for my middle son - 4 short sleeved polo shirts off of EBAY and a new pair of sweat pants from Gap clearance. I think I've spent about $35 total. He needs new blue jeans but they wear shorts until October and I Haven't found a good deal yet. I have no idea what all that would cost full price at a dept store.

Up to $125 - I have a child in private school and wears uniforms. :goodvibes

I said $150.00 because we have to have two pair of shoes in our schools. In and out door ones. My son is 9 but he wears a size men shoe which is expensive for two pairs. Wears sandals all summer so he needs running shoes for shool.

I too pick up clothes all year long in a bigger size when they are on sale. We are from Canada so when we go State side I love Burlington coat factory because they have great summer sales. I got a Christmas dress for my daughter for $5.00 and it was a velvet one with candy canes on it,everyone loved it at school and had my Christmas pics taken with it.

My son wears uniforms. Probably about $100.00 on those. But he'll need tennis shoes, school shoes and a gym uniform also. If I had to guess, maybe $200.00 total.
