I'm really conflicted about this. I understand why it is a good idea but mine look so great now I hate to make them faded out or more washed looking. Love that crisp new look.
I'm curious how many people actually do use this step???
I use Amy's transfers and I have never used vinegar or needed to. I've washed some of my shirts (that I made as testers to see how my trip shirts would hold up) numerous times and wear 2 of them at least once a week and they are still looking great. I'm not sure what the vinegar wash is for, but I don't do it.
I think it would be more important with the light transfers because those did tend to bleed on us and I did do the vinegar wash before and after for those. But now I have been using Amy's transfers and am LOVING them.
Thanks. I did use all dark transfers...Used Avery brand, Staples and Wilton. The first 2 were great, the Wilton was AWFUL. Had to throw out ALL b/c once I peeled the backing, the ink feathered and fell off!!! I printed them about a week ago as I've been away, but the others were fine. Perfect in fact. I think it may have been either the brand, or those ones in particular were old ?!
Anyway, I have 20 of 25 done, and need to buy another pack and print the last ones again :-(
Ah well. Will post pics when done ... Pleased thus far anyway !
