We're on Vancouver Island so any trip that we would drive has to start with getting on a ferry! I mapped it and Google says it's a little over 2000km (1245 miles) with an estimated driving time of 20 hours including the ferry.

We fly.

We come from the N. Bay Area and we usually drive (8 hrs). We do sometimes fly because with 4 major airports, it's not so bad.

Wife and I live in the east bay. If no traffic I can make the drive in about five and a half hours. If they ever up the speed limit on five before the grapevine I could probably shave it down. Leaving though takes about six-seven hours though getting out of LA as we usually do a half day at the park and leave around 3-4 pm

We are in Utah, and last time four years ago we drove and stayed overnight in Vegas on the way. This year we are FLYING!!! I am so excited to not be driving as I do ALL of the driving! It's almost here!!! :cool1:

We are in Vancouver, BC so technically we could drive and I know lots of folks do but I can not imagine us doing this. Its a long drive even broken up and despite my intense fear of flying I get on the plane and we are in LA in under 3 hours.

Our last 3 trips we drove twice and flew once. We live near Seattle 1166 miles north on I5.

I prefer driving because we stay around southern cal for weeks and want to have our car down there with us. We used to fly most of the time because of time constraints. Now we're not tied to jobs so our time is a lot more flexible.
And the airport has become such a pain and neither DH or I really like flying any more.

We drove in 2011. I love road trips! I like to navigate with maps and pick out restaurants along the way. I also enjoy stopping over in Bisbee, AZ coming and going so we can stay at the Copper Queen, an old haunted hotel! My oldest DS complained about driving 8 ours one day, then 12 the next, then doing it all over again on the way back. This year we flew from El Paso to LA on Southwest and had so much fun! It was cheaper really, and the boys loved it. They even got to visit the cockpit. Our car and our truck are getting really old, and it worries me to drive through Death Valley with them. We will continue to fly! pixiedust:

It takes us 8-10 hours depending on if we take the scenic route up/down the coast I-8 or I-10 the more direct route.

Edmonton, AB

3 hour direct flight (I don't care how low the flights are with transfers I won't do it), can't be beat, it's my justification for going yearly.

You could not pay me to drive....

Depends on who's driving...and also who's in the backseat (i.e. cranky, potty stops, hungry, etc!). It usually takes about 7 hours to drive, but we sometimes fly too, based on my notes above the drive has dragged out to 10 hours once! Haha.

Chicago. It's a 4 hour flight. I used to live in New York City, and even then DLR was my home Disney destination. Then it was a 5 and a half hour flight. WDW is only a 2 and a half hour flight from here, but we just like DLR much better.

We live in Jersey. I am at the point, anything more than five (5) hours at the most is a plane ride. If only DLR were closer, I could go all the time!!:thumbsup2

17 hour flight if we get lucky to go non-stop flight to LA from Melbourne, Australia. ;)

Had to spend 48 hours travelling once (plane issues and schedules being shuffled around on me) but was still worth it!!!! :rotfl2:

Arizona here too...........about 6 1/2 hours.
We drive. Audio book and I am good to go.
3-4 times every other year

Just south of SF and we drove when I was little, took about 6-7 hours... Now that I pay my own way, i only fly! I can be there in about an hour!!!

This past trip we flew from Vancouver BC. We had a short stop over in Seattle so it took us 4-5 hours. I would drive down to Seattle and fly from there but personally wouldn't drive all the way to DL. I am not big on long distance car trips. As some one else posted, you could not pay me to drive.

Can't answer your poll because my option is not there. It takes us 8 - 9 hours to get to Disneyland (depending on traffic, number of stops, how fast I drive, etc)
