When you are planning a Disney vacation, how do you book it?

Do you:
Book it yourself
Book through Dreams Unlimited
Book through AAA
Book with other travel agent

Thank you for your advice.

Not sure how to post a poll, so just a question.

I have booked through AAA for the past 2 trips, and used a private TA this time. I do so much research myself that I'm sure I wouldn't have any problems doing it myself, but since it doesn't cast me extra, I'm more than happy to give a TA the business.

I usually book thru Dreams Unlimited. I love having someone who can make my ADRs for me, and who can apply any discounts that come out to my ressie for me. But I still check out travel web sites, and have booked thru them if they have a better deal.

We book through Fairytale Dreams & Destinations, for several reasons:

(1) Nobody knows more about Disney parks than they do IMO;
(2) I can contact them via email and/or phone;
(3) They are a Canadian travel agency, which is important to me;
(4) They absolutely pounce on any available discounts or deals for us immediately;
(5) They make all ADRs for us;
(6) Their services cost us nothing (Disney pays them);
(7) They're very friendly and helpful; and
(8) They are awesome and I'm thankful others referred them to us last year - we wouldn't book any other way now :thumbsup2

I book room only on the phone usually using AAA discount, or if I have a pin code.

I buy my park hoppers thru undercovertourist/mousesavers.

We split meals so never do the dining plan, just too much food. So I either figure out how much we will be spending (ballpark figure based on the menus online) and get a gift card or a traveler's check and put cash on the kttwc.

We only make a few adr, I just don't like having to be at a certain time and place every day. And nothing that is really difficult (like crt), so I usually just call up a month or so before and try, if I don't get it I just switch to plan b.

I think a travel agent like pp mentioned is an excellent idea if you are going to have adr every day. That would save alot of time and phone calls.

I do everything myself..from the flights, room, passes, adrs..you name it!

I love the obsession of it all...I have a serious problem I think..:confused3 ;)

I book it myself because I do not want anyone else to control my reservation. Everything I need to know can be found here on the Dis :thumbsup2

Our first family trip in 2007 I booked online, however last year I used Dream Unlimited for our land/sea vacation and I will continue to do so from now on! I booked again with Dreams for our free dining trip in October.

I book it all. I enjoy planning it all myself and I especially love looking for the bargains, discounts, and codes. If I didn't already have a fun job, I think that I'd love to be a travel agent or vacation planner!

I price it out a million different ways and decide based on the best deal. 9 times out of 10 it's cheaper for me to book each component separately myself.

I book room, dining plan, ADRs and flight over the phone. Buy my park hoppers from the ITR office on post.
