Poll: Has your opinion of President Bush changed?

Has your opinion of President Bush changed since he became President?

  • Yes, I used to approve of him and now I don't.

  • No, I still approve of him.

  • Yes, I used to disapprove of him but now I approve.

  • No, I never approved of him and still don't.

  • Didn't care one way or the other then, and still don't care now.

Results are only viewable after voting.
I disagree with Bush on many major issues, but I like him a whole lot MORE now than ever. He has the guts to stand up to the mob mentality of the public for what he believes in. Even when I disagree with him (as I do on Iraq) I respect the heck out of him for standing up for what he believes in over there.

I respect him for standing up agains the anti-Arab mob that killed the Dubai deal. That was such a joke. A huge chunk of our ports are operated by foreign corporations, no one has ever cared. Now an Arab company wants to do the same thing and we go nuts? Simply was racism. No one (including Bush) wants to do anything to actually protect our Mexican border, that's the real tragedy!

I disagree with Bush on the environment, affirmative action, the war, his lack of immigration control, but I respect him more than the vast majority of politicians. Simply because he is willing to put politics aside and stand up for what he believes in. It's very refreshing.

When he first ran, I thought he was an imbecile who would be a disaster in the oval office.

I overestimated him. A lot.

I voted for him twice and would again. I don't agree with all his decisions (ports, spending), but I think he's done a decent job under VERY difficult circumstances. I'm glad he was president on 9/11.

Yes, because very few presidents would have had the composure to continue reading "My pet goat" knowing that the country had just been attacked.....

2008 can't come soon enough.

It could have been worse, Mugg Man...He might have actually gotten up and tried to DO something.

You're absolutely right, Kool Aid Man (hey, if name-calling is ok for you, it must be for everyone, right? Very mature. :rotfl: ). When told, "Mr. President, the country is under attack, what the president should do is sit in place for several minutes while listening to a bunch of school children. :lmao:

Wow...Talk about not "getting it". :sad2: Is there anything that Bush could do that you wouldn't praise? Wait, of course there isn't.

Oh my. You are the one that started calling people Nostradamus, and now it upsets you??? That just doesn't seem right now does it?

There are many things the president has done that I don't praise (and disagree with), sorry if you missed it...

Yeah, I can see how 7 minutes would have made a HUGE difference. :hourglass

CAPTAIN CAPSLOCK WORKS ALONE. ONLY I KNOW OF THE VAST EVIL CONTROLLED BY PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH, HAVING STUMBLED ACCROSS A TOP SECRET DESIGN FOR WHAT HE DUBS "THE OBLITERFRIAR". BUSH IS USING MIND CONTROL ON PEOPLE SUCH AS YOURSELF IN ORDER TO CONTINUE THE COVER STORY OF BEING A PRESIDENT IN ORDER TO MASK HIS REAL IDENTITY, THAT OF MARTHA THE EVIL CLEANING LADY.

HE MUST BE STOPPED BEFORE HE DECLARES WAR ON MY HOME PLANET, FUDGEWORLD.

My opinion of Bush has changed only in verb tense. I thought he "would make" a bad president. Now, I think he "is making" a bad president. I feared he "would get us into a war." Obviously, he "has gotten us into a war."

He surprised me positively one time -- in the days after 9/11. He was actually presidential in that speech. I also will say that so far the surpreme court nominations are better than I expected them to be.

One thing that has been much worse than I expected is the whole cowboy "you're either with us or you're against us" thing. In the 21st century, the last thing I would expect from any president of any party would be a refusal to work with countries that are presumably our allies.

Yeah, I can see how 7 minutes would have made a HUGE difference.

Oh, let's give puppet boy some slack for sitting there like a dummy for 7 minutes while our nation was under attack...

but , sorry I can't excuse:

Lies about weapons of mass destruction

The outing of Valerie Plame

Social Insecuity Plan

Botched Drug Benefit Plan

Gasoline at an all time high

Paid "Journalist" to report favorably on Bush Administration's platform

Neglect of Global Warming and other enviromental problems (as stated by EPA leaders)

Cutting rights of 6 million workers to overtime pay

Taking a surplus and turning it into skyrocketing national DEBT.

His party changing ethics rules to protect Tom Delay

Spying on American Citizens without a warrent

Creating the Patriot Act which invades American Citizens right to privacy (giving unrestrained access to library records, banking records and more)

Lack of enough troops in Afganastan - leaving a half done job and Osama still at large (10,000 troops at it's height...But the Bush 2nd inauguration merited at least 8,500 soldiers and police officers...)

"loyalty oath" to be signed by citizens before allowing them into his so-called "town hall" meetings.

Skyrocketing debt, but TAX CUTS for the WEALTHY in time of war.

Millions in tax breaks to Oil Companies, who are having record profits!

Underfunded No Child Left Behind, creating legal requirements for states that can not finance them.

Failure of timely repsonse to Hurrican Katrina.

Attempt to coverup fraud related to Hurricane Katrina (On Oct. 19, 2005 the Republican majority in the Senate defeated the Dorgan Amendment 44 to 54 which would have created a committee to investigate waste, fraud and abuse in Iraq and hurricane relief contracts. The vote went along party lines with Democrats favoring an investigation and Republicans preferring cover up the fraud. (No surprise that Republican Bill Frist, who is being investigated for insider trading, voted against the amendment).

The Bush Administration and the Republicans are plagued by corruption at the highest levels. (this was also partially discussed in Failure #5) – The Vice President’s Chief of Staff, The Bush Administration’s top advisor, The Senate Republican Majority Leader and the House Republican Majority Leader are ALL being investigated for criminal activity.

No bid contracts in Iraq and Katrina. Fraud that results, and coverups and inaction when fraud revealed.

More Secretive Agencies and Financial WASTE Being Created By the Republicans under the Bush Administration .
Republican Senator, Richard Burr has proposed a new law to create a new government agency (gee, we need more of those…) to partner with drug companies to combat biological “terrors” both manufactured and natural.
The bill is co-sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (the “doctor” that is being investigated for insider trading and whose family just happens to own a very profitable health care company…gee, wouldn’t that be “conflict of interest?”), Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee Chairman Mike Enzi, Senate Budget Committee Chairman Judd Gregg and Senator Lamar Alexander. ALL Republicans.
So what’s wrong with that you might ask?
1. We have a huge deficit in this country and Burr wants to make it more by adding – just for starters – one Billion to it to create this NEW agency.
2. We already HAVE agencies to combat national health threats – The Center for Disease Control and the National Institute of Health both which , by the way, had their funding CUT by the Bush Administration just this year!
3. According to the Republican plan for this agency it would have “a blanket EXEMPTION from the federal Freedom of Information Act”. That’s right, ALL their dealings (contracts, money, actual work…if any…would be done in TOTAL SECRET.) Did you know that not even the CIA or the Department of Homeland Security has a “blanket exemption?”
4. The agency would have the power to SHIELD drug manufacturers from liability lawsuits in the event that a drug used to counteract a bioterrorism event or disease outbreak caused death or injury.
5. The bill also would allow Health and Human Services to sign exclusive sales contracts with manufacturers for a particular product. It would forbid government purchases of generic versions of such new drugs or vaccines as well as public sales of the products for use as countermeasures.

George W Bush thinks he is above the law and condones the use of torture.

Prison Scandles

Four years later and not a single Iraqi unit trained to take over Iraqi's security. Not a single unit.

Allowing foreign ownership of vital operations related to American national security.

Secrecy, incompetence, fraud, corruption, limiting free speech, propaganda, a culture of favoring corporate business over the American people and at the expense of National Security. The TAX AND STEAL administration.
