I like the alien theory, but we still can't kill them. Kids would have a caniption fit.

When we were kids, boys used to take one or 2 of their legs off to watch them run funny. Apparently they can re-grow legs.

They're harmless to me. I'd leave them alone, but my dd thinks they'll eat her in her sleep or something. I have to dispose them.

I betcha they get all kinds of server busy messages on the spider internet, the real WWW. Let's hope they're not posting "Himans - bite 'em, leave 'em alone, or breed in their ears while they're sleeping."

My kids go bonkers over them, hate 'em, I mean. I'll catch and release if I can reach them, otherwise they skitter away or g et squished. I hate to squish them though since squished spider takes some effort to get clean.

I like them outside! I don't like when they come in, and try to invade my territory.

I LOVED the inevitable camping buddy choice. That's howI voted. They actually don't bother me at all and they are the only bug I pick up. By their legs, of course.

Where we camp is overrun with earwigs. THOSE I don't like. They are really scary-looking with those lobster claws.

I voted for "camping buddies" because "bugs - so?" didn't work for me. I HATE bugs!! ICK!

For some reason they don't really qualify as spiders to me. I just pick them up by a leg or two & take them outside. Other spiders are just so ugly! And gross! (despite being beneficial)

And Dorothy, I agree about those earwigs! Someone from Canada once told me that she was told they'd crawl into your ear & eat into your brain when she was a kid. Eeeewwwwww!

They are harmless. They are a bit freaky. They don't really bother me, even though I can't stand spiders! LOL

A thought occured to me - do you think we sjould call lady Daddy Long Legs Daddy Long Legs. (Do you think there should be a comma or some other punctuation between the two Daddy Long Legs' (or is it Daddy Long Legs's?))

I don't mind them unless they surprise me. They are kinda gross, but I don't kill them.. That will make it rain...(didn't anyone else ever hear that? LOL)

I recall hearing or reading that they actually are NOT a spider. Does anyone else know or care???

I've heard that too, but in my mind, they ARE spiders. They're ugly, they have alot of legs and they hide out in dark corners. What more criteria do you need?

I remember as a child that one side of our house always had them crawling all over it. I would take them and put them all over my arms and go in the house and surprise mom! She still doesn't see the humor in it.

The summer after I'd completed 6th grade, I picked 'em off cabin walls at camp and scared/chased other campers with them...

They truly are not spiders, but many people think they are because they look like one. I think they only have 6 legs and a feeler thing or 5 legs and a feeler thing, I forget? I could go look up close at the one on my shed, but I'd rather not!

The aren't spiders, they are minature outer space creatures. That little body opens and there are about 3 little aliens in there, riding around, spying on us.
