I voted "yes". If you can adjust your trip so that you are going to parks on non-holiday weekdays, that changes to a "YES DEFINITELY!!". Fly on Delta, Southwest or Jet Blue, don't fly on Spirit or American.
We went, the parks are safe, restrict your travels as much as possible to WDW alone. We may never see WDW this uncrowded again. You want to experience this.

I hear you about the crowd level. Very tempting, but when I think about it, it really it is the only temptation.

I love the fireworks, and we always try to plan a new special experience, most of which are cancelled at this time. Also, my two DGSs are avid water park fans. To them, it would not be a Disney holiday without At least one water park. We splurged on the surfing lesson for them a few years back and I think it was the high point of our cumulative Disney experiences, for surfers and spectators alike.

If your DGS’s love water parks, Volcano Bay is open, and Universal has a buy 2 get 2 day special on park tickets. And their CL’s are open too.

I say no. But not because I am scared of a virus or anything like that. I say NO because Disney wants to charge full price for something you are not getting full return on. Over half the restaurants are closed. Some attractions are still closed. There are no fireworks as of yet, no full scale parades and no meet and greets. IMHO, these are all parts of Disney World that i love and enjoy and without them I feel like I am not getting the full experience. Also keep in mind you cannot park hop, and you have to make reservations to get into the park of your choice for the day. For a three day trip I don't feel that it is worth it. We had a 12 day vacation planned for August 5th and canceled it due to all the restrictions, not because we were worried about the virus. We have since rescheduled our trip to Christmas, however if everything that is closed remains closed, we will probably change it again.

I am tired of people judging others for wanting to go out and enjoy their lives. if you are scared of the virus then you stay home locked up in your houses and allow the rest of us to go on with living.

The price for half of the experience is what killed me when I priced out a trip. No way am i paying full price just to ride rides. If I wanted to do that I would do another much cheaper theme park with more coasters and less theming. I go to Disney for the full experience and magic and I’m willing to pay for that but I can’t pay full price for half of it.

Hi -

Such a tough decision. On one hand, it's frightening. On the other hand - we are all stir crazy, a little down, and in desperate need of something positive. We are going to be living under these realities for a while!

I had an August trip booked to meet my sister and niece for our annual Halloween Party long weekend, and with numbers increasing and the party cancelled, we delayed our trip until November - at least it'll be cooler. But, I'm wary. Like you, I'm flying out from California, and that's the part I am most concerned about. I'm a scientist working in an area related to our current situation, and the scenario that frightens me the most is being in an enclosed space/close proximity with others for more than a few minutes, especially without appropriate face coverings.

I'll get tested before I leave and upon return. I am booked on a nonstop flight on Alaska (no seat-packing), and I will be wearing a new N95 mask in each direction. I found an Etsy vendor I like and had wonderful matching masks with filter pockets made for our group (and bought filters), and I made conscious decisions about where to stay. Once at Disney, I can control whether I enter an elevator, whether I walk into (or stay in) a hallway/enclosed portion of a line. If I get freaked out, I have no qualms about leaving.

And of course, I may still change my mind! I'm likely to waffle right up until departure.

Not the best value trip, for sure, but I'd say 2020 has adjusted my expectations pretty significantly ;)!

Good luck with your decision, and if you go, be safe, and have fun. We all deserve that.
