Poll.......Anybody getting the spam 'Congratulations, you won.....!' popups??

Just tried it on Chrome (the only place I was having the issue) , and using my desktop, and was able to access it without any pop ups or splash pages like I was getting the other day. But I am still wary to use it till we know if it's really been fixed. And why did it take so long for someone to do something about it in the first place?

Well that lasted a whole 2 days. Open the DIS on Chrome this morning, and get some 'chrome user survey-you may have won' splash page. Why can't they fix this problem permanently?

I've never gotten them on a PC and use Chrome. I do have two ad blockers going (AdBlocker and AdBlocker Plus).

I have the same adblockers running on both PC (using MS Edge) and mobile and haven't had any issues. So it seems one of the adblockers is catching it.

I haven't had a problem since I blocked Java on the DIS last month. As an experiment I allowed Java yesterday and within an hour the popups started again. It's been fine since I disabled it again.

Up until a few days ago, it used to only happen on my phone. Now it's happening on my iPad, too. (And that's all I use.) I can barely read or post anymore. So aggravating!

Curious about that - do those ad blockers (or any ad blockers) log what ads they're blocking? Thinking that might be a clue to help the DIS tech support folks.

That's what is going on for me too. It is frustrating because navigating the boards without Java blocks a lot of the features, but I guess it is better than not being able to get to the boards at all. I wish they'd just fix it already!

Since I started using MS Edge for the Dis, AdBlock has blocked almost 125,000 (!!!!) ads on this site alone.
