I must be very lucky... I read alot of posts on here about the separation of the "blue" and the "red"... In my every day life, there is none of the despair that is reflected here... I have numerous friends and family that weigh in on both sides of the political arena but none fear for the future of America... or think that GW has all the answers... In no way, is there a feeling of "two Americas" in my neck of the woods... I must be very lucky...

Me too! My DH are very close friends with several other couples. The political affiliations among the group of 16 are split about 50/50. My best friend is in the "other" party, but she drove me to the polls this week (I have a broken ankle). We both knew we were cancelling each other's votes on most of the candidates and several of the state issues, but neither of us feel any anger, fear or strife because of our differences. I'm glad I can be friends and feel respect for members of both parties and their leaders.

Ditto.

I voted for Bush. I've got friends that voted for Kerry. To the best of my knowledge, none of them are spitting blood, spewing hate, jumping off a cliff, laying down in front of a train or looking for a low branch with a rope around their neck.

For the vast majority of Americans, life did NOT end on tuesday.
