Please tell me you're joking. I thought this behaviour was as good as unheard of. I didn't think there were other neglectful people doing it.

i totally agree with you Poppyanna and if it had been as you say" hardworking cleaner and taxi driver" there would have been a huge public outcry and the remaining kids would have probably been put into care ,etc etc.

if it turns out that they have done it then i would be really angry that they managed to dupe people all over the world. but on the other hand if they havent then what is happening is really shocking.
i dont know what to believe anymore.

i have two boys and would never have left them , thats why you have a FAMILY holiday to spend time with them.

I don't think anything I said about the McCann's means that they are guilty, I'm still about 50/50 DH is more like 80/20 that they are guilty.
The point that I was trying to make was I don't like most of their actions (that I have seen, and read about) as parents. For the children to be crying on previous nights for their parents and for the hotel manager having to fetch them from the restaurant is awful and it breaks my heart - and then they left them again!
I just wouldn't be that surprised now if they were guilty.

As for Richard Branson's contribution to their legal fund, he could end up with egg on his face couldn't he?
I am a firm believer of innocent until proven guilty, but this whole thing seems to have been about them and not their daughter, the only time either one of them has shown emotion was when he made a statement having landed at East Midlands airport last week, which was about their new status as suspects and not about his daughter.

I don't think their guilty either and i also agree with all their actions. This whole case got people talking around the world and it also brought to light other cases of missing children. I don't think anyone can disagree with their actions and how they've done things, at the end of the day their trying to find their child. There isn't a book about 'how to find your child' i suppose their doing things they feel right for them at the time, good or bad. They were in a strange country with a completley different law with a missing child.

thats ok poppyanna.i agree with you anyway i also think that some of what emily1982 has said is right too, sometimes people deal with thinks differently, if it was me i would be a wreck and wouldnt care who saw me like that, i would be out knocking on doors and searching myself, i also wouldnt ever have left my other son he would be permantly by my side and i would go anywhere without him. sometimes other peoples actions are hard to figure out. i just know that i dont know who to believe anymore.

I feel the same as Netty and Emily.

I don't think "class" has anything to do with this case. I would have thought Doctors were hard working and they and their family members all have regional accents and not public school accents. Perhaps they have made money by working. Most message boards I have read seem to be bashing the McCann's because they have money.

I hope the McCanns will be able to find closure to this most horrific time in their lives.

I must say that I agree with Poppyanna too, there is no way that I would leave my kids if one of them had gone missing. I really want to believe that they have nothing to do with it but in my subconsious I think I am starting to think that it could be he only thing. So sad.

My children are the most precious thing in the world to me and I can't imagine leaving them alone, so what if the Nanny couldn't come on holiday then the kids go with you - that's what you do when you are a family!

Personally, I wouldnt leave my kids alone at home never mind in a strange apartment on holidays...

My own personal belief is that the only way now that Maddies body will be found (But I belive she is probably in the sea) is when the McCanns confess to what they did with the poor child.

I don't think there is an aurgument that leaving your children night after night on their own is wrong. there can be no excuse for that.

I'm tending to think that way too now Netty !! There's something in this case that just doesn't seem quite right I can't put my finger on it though - it's just a gut feeling I have.

I hope I'm wrong - for the other children's sakes ! And I feel the longer it takes the more suspicious the parents are becoming.

One of two scenarios
1) That this being the first time Mrs McCann has been left with the children instead of a nanny looking after them, she snapped and lashed out
or
2) (probably more the situation) that Maddie was killed acidentally, either by overdose or hurt herself when left on their own one of the nights on the holiday.

If your child was kidnapped would you really go back to the crowd at the bar leaving the other two on their own in the apartment?
