Polar Express!!!!!

Man,I got bad news this morning(no puppies) and good news this afternoon!!
I entered a lottery for tickets to the Polar Express in North Conway and got the phone call!!! We got tickets! This is the best part:my phone call came while I was on my 3 mile walk with my dog. We were just about thru(I could see my car)and I heard my phone ringing. It was the Polar Express elf!!!! I was so bummed because I didn't bring my credit card with me! I explained to the "elf" my predicament and told her I understood the rules,"no 2nd call" she then asked how far was home. I told her about 2 miles. She said,"ok,get in your car and start driving,I'll explain all about the Polar Express!" I couldn't believe how nice she was!!! She told me that she knows people who have been trying for 5 years to get tickets and that I was extremely lucky to win the lottery the 1st time! Man,I went from totally being sad to being happy!

I am soo confused. The only Polr Express I know of is the movie. Care to enlighten me?

Have you read the book? The movie is probably the same. In North Conway ,NH around Christmas time,there's a train that runs that follows the book. Its very hard to get tickets. You must enter a lottery for $10 to win tickets. I NEVER expected to win the lottery!!

They will call until 10:30 tonight. All Saturday rides are gone. Also,only nights left. We're going on a Friday night. CAN NOT WAIT!!!! If this doesn't put us in a Christmas mood,nothing will!

Thanks for the info! We donated $20 so we could be in the lottery for both locations so if we don't hear anything today, there is still hope we will hear from the "elf" on Thursday. Which seats did you choose?

The Elf said that coach was fine. They were great seats and no need to spend the extra. Of course,I would've if they had the other seats.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but speaking of Polar Express, I have been waiting all year for it to come out on video/dvd. DH told me they wouldn't release it on DVD until Christmas, and even then he thought they wouldn't. He thinks it will be released in theaters again, fine by me. I just LOVE this movie and book and was hoping someone had some insight...

I LOVE the Polar Express! It is absolutely fantastic. We took our whole school to see it at the movies last year.

If they re-release the movie this year make sure you get to see it in IMAX 3-D. It was incredible.
I don't think I will be able to buy the CD and watch it after having seen it in IMAX 3-D. I felt dizzy during the train on the ice scene.
the only thing I didn't like about that movie is that Santa was a little scary looking.
I am taking my niece and nephew as soon as they release it this season. I just wish they would keep it in the theatres each December so I could take my grandson when he is older. I don't think a 2 month old will like the movie much. Peggie

I have not heard that they are re-releasing the movie into theater's. Can anyone enlighten me? Or is this an unconfirmed rumor?
