Polar Bear Club, Texas Style

So it is snowing in Houston. We took the dogs out and the snow was sticking to their fur. My sons and my nephew were telling me how it wasn't that cold and they all refused to wear jackets. One of them even wore shorts. So we did a Texas version of the Polar Bear Club. The boys had to jump in the pool and swim across it. One son and my nephew did it. My other son only got in to his waist and then climbed back out. I had told them that I would give them a dollar if they did, so two of them got a dollar and one got fifty cents.

All three boys are eleven years old, and I did get it on video. DH says we can show it to future girlfriends to prove my theory that boys are stupid.

We got a few snow flurries here, but nothing on the ground so far. The air is drier here than in Houston, so we aren't expecting much. It is cold, though.

Holy cow. I'm in the Galleria Area (inside the loop on Westpark) and it's coming down pretty hard. They're closing our office at 12:30. I'm sure the drive to Clear Lake is going to be a blast.

I'm downtown and its coming down pretty good. My DW in Pearland says there is two inches on the ground and it's still snowing. The closer to the Gulf the more snow because that's where the moisture is. We are free to leave at 12:00 but my carpool driver has a 2:00 meeting at Wortham Golf Course and so far no one has cancelled that so I may be here a while.

It was barely coming down when the boys went in the pool. Now it is snowing harder and it is sticking to the ground. The kids are trying to make snow balls. DH's office closed at noon. I teach gymnastics and my boys do gymnastics and dance. The gym and the dance studio shut down for today and tommorrow. In true Houston fashion, shut the whole town down. I hope everyone gets home safe.

You and I must work right by each other. I am on S.Rice less than a mile down from Westpark, about a block past Sam's Club.

DH just texted from Austin that snow is coming down pretty good. We've only seen a few flakes here at the house, though. My SIL is in Tomball and called me about the snow this morning.

During the summer, we were in the 110s, now we have snow. Gotta love this Texas weather!

I'm at Richmond and Fountain View - of course, the office isn't closing - it has taken one of the owners 1.5 hours to get to the Woodlands - and I am dreading the commute- I won't be taking the freeways!
