poker run for charity

we stopped at a small city park on the river in Niceville during our roadtrip Saturday. We happened to be there when a large group of boats were coming in to pick up one of the cards on their poker run to benefit a local children's home. There were lots of cigarette boats there and they were strutting their stuff...

just one more neat thing about road trips.

We did a poker run this weekend (on motorcycles). It was dedicated to my riding buddy who was killed in June by a careless driver. It was fun, even though I didn't win.

they were giving away 2 harley's at the end of the run. This run was going to last 3 days ranging from Pensacola to Destin/Panama City or somewhere around there.

Poker run? I'm not familiar with that term... you play poker while running?

At our poker run, you made 5 stops along the route and picked up a card at each stop. Whoever had the best and worst hand at the end of the run won a prize. Ours was on motorcycles, but I guess you could run if you want to.

A poker run can take 1 to 3 days and is usually for a cause/charity. There are pre-determined stops where you pick up one playing card. I think there can be any # of stops. When you finish your "run" (all of your stops) you get together with all of the other riders and play your hand. There can be prizes for the best hand, the worst hand, that kind of thing. And with the poker run last weekend they were giving away a Harley. They sound like alot of fun. Whenever we get our Harley, excuse me, Whenever SO gets HIS Harley we'll definitely do this.
