Does anyone else here still love Pokémon? Perhaps you never did? Let me know! Personally I still find them good fun :) Pokémon: Detective Pikachu was a great movie!

My son is totally into it! He has a Pokémon bedroom and chose Pokémon as the theme for his 6th birthday next week.

I like it and am conversant, I've played many of the games, but not like my two kids. Pokemon Go during the beginning of the pandemic led them down the path to start and now they spend a lot of time playing the new games and the card game. They are now 10 and 7 so they were 7 and 4 when we started. I was just on the upper end of the age range for the games when they came out, never got that into it.

I am a HUGE fan of Pokemon. I grew up playing the games and watching the anime. I remember my elementary school banning Pokemon cards because everyone brought them in to play the card game and trade. I even went to the Pokemon Cafe during my trip to Japan which was adorable (and the food was pretty good).

I never knew what Pokemon was and I kept seeing Pikachu merchandise everywhere in stores and I never understood where Pikachu came from. Until I was at a Hollywood Video store renting movies and I saw the new at the time Pokemon Crystal Gameboy Color game for rent there and since I had just gotten a Gameboy Advance I rented Pokemon Crystal and that game began a love affair with Pokemon for me and I was so impressed with Pokemon Crystal that a few days after I returned it to Hollywood Video I got my own copy of Pokemon Crystal for Christmas 2002 and continued playing it since. After that more Pokemon games were added to my collection and then I got the two movies of Pokemon as well. Though I never had Pokemon plushies except for one that my uncle gave me from KFC's Pokemon plushie promotion in 2001 I thought Pokemon was really cool. And when I would play my Pokemon games I always nicknamed my Pokemon after favorite celebrities that I liked and that feature I loved very much. I don't collect Pokemon much since they don't make no more Pokemon games for the Nintendo DS but it was a fun hobby for me
