Just a quick question - from a new member who does not know much & just bought 218 pts at BCV

Close at the end of Sep. but need to use 218 pts by Feb 05

Will it be tough for me to do so?

Where will I be able to get a res?

I don't think you'll have any problems to get a reservation for Jan or Feb. Might be hard to get this late notice for Oct-Dec. but I'm not sure. You've come to the right place though, there are very knowledgable people here & I'm sure someone can help you more than I, we just purchased SSR in July. Good Luck & Welcome Home!!!

If your dates are flexible, you'll be able to get something. January is probably your best bet. You'll find limited availabilty for October, November and December, but if you are willing to use the waitlist, even those are not impossible.

If you can't mfind availability at one of the DVC resorts, you could always use your points for one of the non-DVC options. (If you do, you need to make the reservation more than 60 days prior to the end of your use year).

I assume it's a resale since it is BCV, did you consider asking seller to bank some points. It is to late to do all but they can still do part.

what might be best thing to do?

rent the points out once we clear escrow?

This is where you run into the problem of buying out side of disney . My sis just bought a BWV contract with 150 pts to use by sept via disney...Disney offered her a one time of banking those pts since she just got the contract.

We bought a VWL add on from Disney and we had to use or loose 75 points within 3 months. They did not offer us any type of banking (one time or whatever). I was not crazy about our sales rep though, he was not very helpful throughout both purchases, so that may have something to do with it. We did end up renting the points though.

you might consider cancelling your AK cash reservation and rebook it using points if you are able to change dates slightly. This might be a good use of points if they will expire anyway and save you some money in the process. Just a thought
