Points, UY and reservation question

We're in the process of buying a resale and have a question about making a reservation once all is said and done. Our UY is June and we will have points from '07 and then more coming for '08. If we want to borrow some points from '09 to make a reservation for August, do we have to wait until June '08 to borrow AND make the reservation? Does that make any sense? TIA!

It's not when you make your reservation, but when your reservation is for that determines which UY's points are used.

I assume that you want make a reservation for August of 2008 which is in your 2008 UY. So you can make the reservation now and if need be, MS will borrow the 2009 UY's points.

I am assuming that your 2007 UY points have been banked. Thus you could use those as well for your August, 2008 vacation. MS will in general use the banked points first.

If the owners haven't banked those 2007 points yet, you might ask if they would do that. The odds of you getting to use them before June 1, 2008 would be slim. And you may be past the banking deadline to do it once you close.
