points transfer question for the experts!

In my evil plan to convince DH that we need more points, I plan on borrowing points into 2011 for our 2010 ressies so we can have a 1 BR instead of studio. Then i plan on trying to transfer points at the end of 2010 to replenish our points for 2011 and 2012(hopefully hawaii) providing that we haven't decided to add on at that point.

So here is my question, if i get a points transfer, does it have to be from my home resort of BLT or can it be from any resort that i can bank and use?? This is where i get confused. Hypothetically, if i get 400 okw points, can i automatically use them with my 11 month window at BLT?

It's 1 transfer per Use Year of either points into your account or out of your account and the transfer of points can come from any resort. If the points you transfer into your account are still within their banking window you may bank them but those points will still keep their Home Resort designation and their UY(month) so they will not 'morph' into what your point's Home Resort, etc. happen to be - so if it's BLT points you want then get a transfer from a member who owns BLT points. To answer your specific question about OKW points being used at BLT at 11 month window : no that cannot happen even if you banked those transferred OKW points....at 7 month window you can use the OKW points to book at BLT but not before that; only your own BLT points would be usable to book at 11 month window.

whether you are transferring pts in or adding on another DVC contract, you will always need BLT pts to book BLT at 11 months out (and VWL to book VWL at 11 months out and so on).

Transfered points retain their home resort status and UY.

Transfered points can be banked, but banked points can not be transfered.

Thanks so much for the help. That may be even better for me since i really want to try a couple of others before we add on to see if we want to add on at BLT or try somewhere else.

So would this work for me. I have 50 VB pts Oct use year. In May 2011 we are doing a 3 night cruise, thurs to sun, then want to book AKL sun to thurs. I could borrow my 2011 VB points but I do not want to wait until 7months to book. If i can get some one to transfer AKL points from 2009 or 2010 depending on month can I bank or just use those points to make ressies at 11 months
