Points to Rent

You can go to the DIS Rent/Trade Board and offer any points you can't use yourself.

Be sure to read the **How to use this Board** thread at the top of the board.

you can also make a reservation and put it up on ebay or something like that...or else use david (link on the rent/trade board) to broker a deal for you.

You'll have to pay a premium to rent out your points on the DIS because you haven't posted since 2010.

I used David's Vacation Rentals and rented all of my points within weeks of listing....highly recommend......completely hassle free!!

I also highly recommend David's. It was extremely easy and I got my money as promised. My tenants checked in on Christmas Day and the money was in my paypal account that very day, regardless of the holiday. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

What's the going rate for owners on David's site? Renters pay $13/point and Owners get how much per point?

My MIL has 61 points that expire at the end of July if she rents them out can she borrow points for an Aug trip if her use year is Aug?

If her use year is August, her 2012 starts on August 1, 2012, she would not have to borrow any points for an August 2012 Trip. But, why doesn't she bank the 61 points and use those for her August trip? She has until March 31 to bank her August 2011 points into her 2012 use year.

I think these are already banked points that she has to use by July My husband called DVC and they said they must be used by July so thay won't work in AUG. We were hoping to buy/borrow some points to use on our trip my MIL is using her points for her trip that has not been planned. So she said if we buy the points from someone we can book it that way (my DH is listed on her paperwork as an owner) Will our borrowing points prevent her from banking points if she doesn't use them all on her trip?

If you borrow points from the August 2013 use year for use during your August 2012 use year, those borrowed points would need to be used during the 2012 use year, but any actual 2012 use year points remaining could be banked into the 2013 use year.

However, Member Services will not borrow points from the next use year until all current use year points are used for a reservation.

If you're talking about transferring points from another member into your MILs account, they would have no impact on her own points.
