Points Question

I feel like I should know the answer to this question but I don't so I thought I would ask! We have points with a September use year so I know my points for the year are available to use until Sept. 1st. Here is my dilemma- we used our 2014 points so will not have any to technically use until Sept. 2015 for the 2015 use year and then we would also be able to borrow for 2016. However, I want to book now for February 2016 and it won't let me because I technically don't have those points yet. Do I have to wait all the way until September 2015 to book for February? That doesn't seem to make sense as I will miss my 11 and 7 month windows and won't get a reservation. Is it just that I can't do this online and have to call? I know I can't use my points before September but shouldn't I be able to book using them? I am stumped! Help!

You should be able to book at your home resort for Feb 2016 check-in dates. What/who is not letting you book? Points go with reservations, not time of booking at reservation.

Your Sep 2015 UY points are good for stays from Sep 1, 2015 through Aug 31, 2016 so they are valid for a stay in Feb 2016. You could book that stay right now at your home resort or at a non-home resort when the 7 month window opens in July. You could also borrow points from your Sep 2016 UY for that Feb 2016 stay and again, you could do so today if you are booking your home resort or in July if you want to stay at a different resort.

And you don't have to wait until Sep 1, 2015 to use your Sep 2015 UY points. You could borrow some/all of those points to book a stay for dates between now and Aug 31, 2015 if you wanted to do so.

Ok, that is what I thought. I tried online and it told me I did not have the points available to do that?

Ok just tried again and it went through! Must have been something with the site earlier or maybe it was the user..............anyway it made me second guess what I thought was correct. I really appreciate the help! I am all set now and hooray I have a vacation booked!
