I just had a question for the experts out there, I have a few ressie's booked for next year. I have a ressie booked in Jan for my daughter using 2011 points (Oct UY) and another ressie (studio) booked for friends for Feb using 2012 borrowed points. Our friends were able to get a 1 bedroom using their RCI exchange and I was wondering if MS would let me use the borrowed 2012 for the Jan. ressie so I can bank the 2011 points. All ressie's were made in the 7 month booking window (no home resort points were used all the same contract just 2011 vs. 2012 points).

You will have to cancel the Feb trip for your friends first, then cancel your daughter's trip, and rebook your daughter's trip; the only problem is if someone jumps in between your canceling and rebooking your daughter's trip. I have done this type of canceling/booking multiple time.

They might let you swap out the points if they are at the same resort. But if you used home resort advantage to get your daughter's reservation and the points you used for your friends were a different resort, they probably won't let you do it without cancelling and rebooking.

I think that if you cancel the friends reservation and ask that they reallocate the points for the Jan trip, you should be fine.

You booked within the 7 month mark so points are points and it should not matter which ones are used.

I agree. I have done something similar before, but only with a few points. You might have to make more than one call though to get an agent who is capable of doing this. You can always ask for a supervisor to do your reallocation too.

Thank you I will be calling today, hoping it is a one phone call deal! lol As I said both ressie's were made in less then 7 month mark, no home resort priority.
