Points in Holding??

Can someone explain what does this mean? I had ressies for 8/22-27 but had to change them to the following week. The good thing was that it cost me 25 less points but MS said those 25 points would be in holding. What does that mean?

Holding points can only book ressies 60 days or less away (based on checkout). They expire at the end of your use year, no banking option. They are however transferable if that helps.

The reason they went into holding is because you canceled within 30 days of the reservation, too bad you didn't know about your change of plans sooner, but it's great that you got the new ressies.

It is 60 days or less from checkin date for holding account points. And if you exchange into Disney, Concierge, Adventurer or World Passport collections it is within 60 days of arrival and more than 60 days before the end of your use year.

So can I post these on the rent/trade?

I can either transfer them to another member to use before march 1, 2005 or make a ressie for someone to use before the end of October? am I correct?

It sounds as though your Use Year is March. The Holding Account points will expire on February 28, 2005- the points must be used or transferred prior by that date.

They may be used to make a reservation anytime up until Feb 28- but only 60 days in advance. As of today, you can make a reservation that ends on Sep. 30, 2004.

The Rent/Trade Board would be a good resource to try to use these points if you can't use them yourself before Feb 28.

I believe it would be for a check-in date no later than September 27th (the 60th day from today). Holding account point reservations are windowed against the check-in date, just the opposite of what we are all used to. I don't know why they did it that way, but they did.
