Points ?? Help

I hope I can explain this without it becoming really confusing. i need some help asap.

We currently own a 220 point contract at AKL April use year
We have 0 points remaining for 2010
I booked a trip for March 2011 for which I borrowed 104 points from 2011
I also booked a trip in Sep 2011 for which I borrowed 96 points from 2011
Thus using 200 points with 20 left over

We recently bought a contract for 100 points at AKL with April use year
It has 50 points that were borrowed from 2011 and must be used by April 1 2011.
There are 50 points remaining for 2011
100 points for 2012

Is there a way to use the 50 points that are expiring on April 1st. Would I have to cancel my current ressie and rebook? If I cancel will those points stay in the 2011 use year and can i use them for my Sep trip?? If I cannot use the expiring points can i rent them?? I need some advice on how to best make this work-if I can. I feellike I really messed things up.

You could ask MS to reallocate those points that need to be used by March 31st, 2011 to the March reservation.

The only piece is that you are beyond your banking deadline for any of the 2010 UY points so you would have to ask them to give you an exception to allow you to bank some of those 2010 UY points you have used.

Now, I have heard that when you get a new contract that MS will allow this type of transaction.

It also states in our documents that if you add on points after you have borrowed points, they do let you use current UY points to replace them and put back the borrowed points (this is the only time borrowed points can be returned). However, I am not sure if this applies when you buy resale or just when you add on direct.

The best you can do is call and ask. Since these points are from the same home resort that your other points are from, there should be no canceling and rebooking--you are simply asking them to readjust which points from your account.

And, since your Sept 2011 trip falls in your 2011 UY, any 2011 points being used were not borrowed. They would be considered current UY points.

Everything is based on when you travel and not when you book, unless you meant that you borrowed 2012 points for the Sept 2011 trip.

I don't think banking is an option here, since none of these are 2010 points, they are borrowed 2011 points. You have 104 borrowed points in your March reservation, and 50 new borrowed points. All of these will expire April 1, and you can't put them back into next year. You can try to rent the 50 borrowed points, but that might be difficult on such short notice. Or you could try to extend your March trip or upgrade to a bigger or better villa.

I assume Sandi's right and the September trip points were not borrowed, since that's already in your 2011 use year.

I just had something similar happen. You won't be able to bank the 50 animal kingdom points for 2010- my use year is april too and it's too late. You could "rent" them or lose them or give them to a friend at this point. All the 2011 points remaining can be banked.

I would call MS and ask them what they can do. Worse thing that could happen is you rent them out and have money in your pocket for your
April trip.
